This is the cheapest type of Ethernet cable that money can buy I think. I paid $50 for the spool but I would not pay $65 for the same cable. If I was going to pay more money I would want a better cable too.

When pulling the wire, it "stuck" 6 times in the first 50 feet. Had to walk back to the box and gently pull the cable out and found signs of bending/crimping the wire as it deployed. Since I was pulling under a deck (and had to crawl out and back in every time) it was a royal pain. I don't know about the rest of the box, but if this continues I'm going to regret this purchase.

This is copper coated wire, and thin stuff at that. It has all the bell and whistles that it should have, it just seems a bit thin and shoddy. You have to be careful about the ends and tools you use - some we could not make work, and, I wonder what kind of load it could carry and if you could cause a fire with it. Low voltage stuff and short distances will be all we ever use this for. Nothing like solid copper. Oh, well...

I have previously used monoprice bulk cable but thought I would give this product a try and will probably continue to use it in the future. I will say the sheathing is not quite as versatile as the monoprice cabling and some of the labeling rubbed off on my longer ~300ft runs but overall I am happy with the product.

I needed this cable for a quick turnaround project. I ordered hoping I would get it on time and I did. Everything went without a hitch. The cable itself was good quality and the wires were of the slightly rigid type. I myself prefer those as they are a lot easier to separate and keep together when putting on CAT5/6 Connectors.

I should have paid closer attention to the fine print, I didn't realize until I had installed the first run and went to put a connector on the end that this is aluminum wire within a thin plating of copper on the conductors. It says CCA in the item listing, my fault for not reading that closer but until now I was not even aware that aluminum conductor CAT5e was even available. Aluminum wire has almost 3 times the resistance of pure copper so while this is probably ok for data, it should not be used for PoE (power over ethernet) applications such as the security cameras I was planning on using it for. It feels flimsy too, aluminum wire is less durable and more prone to breaking if it is tugged or flexed. I'm going to cut my losses and give it away or chuck it and buy a box of proper copper CAT5e instead of using this junk. I should have known by the low price, lesson learned, always read the fine print!
