So this week’s episode is a biggie: We’re tackling marriage. Or, as much as we can tackle in 45 minutes. 9: Being Content With The Life You Hav…
Last episode, we asked everyone in our takeaway to think about if life turned out the way you dreamed it would as a teenager, and what you would tell your teenage self about your future. We were really thinking ahead about today’s episode. So here we are: You’re an adult, and this is your life. There are going to be disappointments and dissatisfactions. It’s normal. But now what? How can we be content with the life we have?In this episode we’ll be talking about ways we have come to terms with how our lives are not the exact pictures we painted them to be. We’re also talking with author and Mishpacha Magazine contributor Esther Kurtz about the idea of “Jewish privilege” and how that plays out in our struggles of being satisfied with our lots.By the end of today’s episode we hope you walk away feeling inspired to better appreciate the life you lead, warts and all, and feel more empowered to deal with any interfering thoughts of comparison, inadequacy and disappointment that rob the joy out of life. This episode is sponsored by Master My Space, a luxury home professional organizing company based in Cleveland. When Alex’s teenage daughter, Chana, told her that her friend Yitti listens to Normal Frum Women and is working on creating her own podcast, “Normal Frum Teenagers”, we knew we had the title for our next episode -- and we knew we needed Chana and Yitti on it, as well as Rivki’s niece, Esti. It was time to get the lowdown on what being a frum teenager is like in 2021.In today’s episode we’ll be talking with these three “normal frum teenagers” (although maybe their siblings will beg to differ), Chana, Esti and Yitti. We’ll be talking to them about:- The biggest challenge facing frum teenage girls today- What they value about Yiddishkeit the most- Something they would tell their 10-year-old self about the years to come- How they envision themselves in 5 years- Things they want adults and teachers to knowBy the end of today’s episode we hope you’ll walk away feeling inspired by our talk with these three amazing teenage girls. We want to give them the spotlight and enlighten us with their experiences growing up as frum teenagers in 2021. They’re the next generation of frum wives, mothers and contributors to the world. This episode is sponsored by Candy-A-Plenty. I’m eagerly waiting for “next Wednesday” for the next nuanced conversation. This podcast really does make me feel like I’m joining in on a conversation with friends about all the things I think/talk about. Love the perspective, haskkah, encouragement and nuance that Alex, Rivki and their guests bring to the table.
I love listening to the different perspectives given by women on this podcast!
Editing this after listening to a bunch of episodes- this podcast meets all expectations I had for it! Alex and Rivki put out excellent content and their interviews and topics stay true to being for and about normal frum women. I look forward to each one as it comes out!
I loved the premise of this podcast and since I really like Alex’s columns in Mishpacha magazine I had high expectations for this. Listening to this podcast is enjoyable and made me think, giving practical food for thought in an unintimidating and fun way. Looking forward to future episodes!
