i never really new what the 1st. advent meant. now i know what the 1&2 advent is, i'd like to be around for that, but if not, that's okay too. by faith I know in my Lord's time, I'll be with Him! yes, this little 28 day devotional for the reading from the 1st. advent, really gave me a clear undestanding, of my Bible reading's i have serveral A.W.Tozer, book's, i really like & enjoy hearing what his words are telling me.when you open your heart to Holy God, amazing thing's are happening,i'm in awe of my Lord Jesus Christ, my Savior,& by his grace I'am heald. Amen!

I was looking for a good read for Advent, as I've become convicted the last couple of years over the narrowness of my Christmas focus. Mr. Tozer's book doesn't deal with the ceremonial aspects of Advent, but it does remind of the reason for the Incarnation. It also points toward the Advent yet to come. There's a small amount of complaining about the secular side of the modern Christmas which I could do without, but it's a minor theme. Mainly, it serves to point to the reason for it all.

I chose this devotional to read during advent because of the title. I expected to find more scriptures surrounding the birth of Jesus and focusing on His coming. I was slightly disappointed as I did not find many explicitly focused in this area. The devotions were good and I gleaned a lot from Tozer's teachings, however, it wasn't what I was looking for at the time I chose to read it. The title seems a little deceiving to me.

Best Christmas devotional I have ever read; really goes deep into the real truth behind Advent and why Jesus was born to die. If you have lost the Christmas spirit or if Christmas has become a hollow season of secular blur-this little gem from Tozer is your key to finding renewed joy during this inspiring season of love and hope.

If you are a fan of Tozer, you will love this. He tends to be a little on the academic side for me, so I find it a bit dry, but always spot-on theology and good thoughts throughout the advent season.

I began this book the first day of December as a devotion for Christmas. Thoroughly was enlightened to see the many faces of God the Father and his son sent to this world for our redemption.

A wonderful collection of some of Tozer's deepest insights into the wonders of the incarnation. It's a perfect addition to devotional reading at any time, but especially during advent.

Welcoming way to get ready for Advent.

A.W. Tozer is a solid preacher and theologian. I'm loving focusing on Christ through his writing this advent season. He is totally accessible to anyone who has a faith already.

Widened my view of God’s planning for this earth. Will dip back into it as didn’t finish it.

This is one of the most inspiring and thought provoking advent devotional I have read.

A helpful anbd thoughtful book for personal meditation throughout the Advent period,

“We live between two mighty events…”
Advent is as much about looking back as it is looking ahead—back to Christ’s incarnation, ahead to His return. From Heaven combines A. W. Tozer’s best reflections on these two themes to help us better appreciate the season of Advent. Each daily reading is paired with Scripture for meditation, drawing our attention to the rising light of Christ.
“I am struck with the wonder and the significance of the limitless meaning of these two words, He came. Within them the whole scope of divine mercy and redeeming love is outlined.” — A. W. Tozer

An after-death communication or ADC is a spiritual experience that occurs when someone is contacted directly and spontaneously by a deceased family member or friend.
“Everybody has an essence or a personal energy pattern which is as unique and individual as their fingerprints.”
Sensing or feeling the presence of a deceased family member or friend is one of the most common types of contact. We call these sentient ADCs.
"After-death communications," or "ADCs, " occur when someone is contacted spontaneously and directly by a deceased family member or friend, without the help of any medium. The authors' research shows that these spiritual experiences offer hope, love, and comfort for thousands of people. Included are more than 350 first-hand accounts of those whose lives have been changed and even protected by messages or signs from the deceased.

CHAPTER 1 The ADC Project: A Leap of Faith  Death is simply a shedding of the physical body like the butterfly shedding its cocoon. It is a transition to a higher state of consciousness where you continue to perceive, to understand, to laugh, and to be able to grow. —Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, M.D.” Like a caterpillar that was asleep in its cocoon, I was about to be transformed, but I never suspected it at the time. It was summer 1976, and my wife, Judy, and I were living in Sarasota, Florida. “Bill, come in here! Elisabeth Kübler-Ross is going to be on Donahue,” she called from the living room. “I think I’ve heard her name. Who is she? What does she do?” I asked from my office. “She’s the famous European doctor who works with people who are dying,” Judy replied. This answer didn’t thrill me. Why would I want to watch an entire program on a subject that I didn’t even want to think about? Formerly a stockbroker and a securities analyst who had worked for two Wall Street firms, I was an avowed materialist. My primary interests were the Dow Jones Industrials Average and earning money on investments. My beliefs about death and life after death could be summed up briefly: “People are like flashlight batteries. When their juice runs out, you simply throw their bodies away. When you’re dead, you’re dead!” Judy called again, “Come on, Bill. The show’s about to start. You don’t want to miss Elisabeth. She’s a really special person!” “Okay, I’ll be there in a minute,” I said, though I joined Judy with little enthusiasm. To my amazement, the program turned out to be one of the most engrossing hours of television I had ever seen. I learned that Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross is a world-renowned Swiss-born psychiatrist. Her pioneering work with the terminally ill was helping millions of Americans overcome their fear of death and dying. On this show, Elisabeth talked about the near-death experiences her patients had shared with her and of her belief in life after death. She spoke with such compassion, sincerity, and conviction about these issues that I was unexpectedly impressed. Two weeks la
