Position and Location 

The Data Research intern position is part of Polixis’ strategically important growing team in charge of collecting and analyzing regulatory, sanction and other risk-relevant data. It is an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge in Compliance, Political, Sanctions, Country and Research analysis. 

The duration of the internship is 6 months. Upon successful completion, it may lead to a permanent job offer.

You are expected to

• Conduct research on individuals and organizations by utilizing open-source resources. Focus on identifying and analyzing Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), monitoring and research of sanction lists and global watchlists. 
• Conduct regulatory research and monitor regulatory developments in African and French-speaking European countries.
• Create comprehensive country profiles with an emphasis on political, corporate, and regulatory contexts.
• Use French, English, or other regional languages to access and interpret original-language materials and documents.
• Analyze and integrate information from various sources to generate accurate findings.
• Present findings to the Team Lead and other stakeholders as required 
• Demonstrate initiative and a strong desire for continuous professional development.
• Incorporate feedback from supervisors and adapt work practices accordingly.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to meet project goals and deadlines.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, International Relations, Law, or similar;  
• Interest in politics, AML related developments, finance, and data-driven solutions;  
• Knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets;  
• Excellent knowledge of English and French is a must
