Role Description The Freelancer College Advisor is a full-time remote role focused on guiding high school students through the college admissions process. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with students virtually, assessing their academic profiles and interests, and developing individualized application strategies. The advisor will support students with college selection, essay planning, application timelines, and financial aid options. The role also involves ongoing academic advising, clear communication with students and families, and maintaining accurate records of advising sessions. Advisors are expected to stay current on global admissions trends, scholarship opportunities, and institutional requirements to provide up-to-date guidance.
Qualifications
* Strong expertise in College Applications, including school selection, essay guidance, and application planning.
* Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to students and families.
* Experience in Student Counseling and Academic Advising, with a student-centered and supportive approach.
* Knowledge of Student Financial Aid, scholarships, and funding options across different regions.
* Prior experience in college admissions, school counseling, education consulting, or related fields.
* Comfort with remote work, online advising tools, and virtual meeting platforms.
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple student cases, and meet agreed timelines.
* Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related discipline; advanced degrees are a plus.
* Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with students from diverse backgrounds.
