How toxic would you consider this fan base to be?
This is the official subreddit for the video game, Freedom Planet. It's the only game where you can have a dragon, a motorbike-riding ninja cat, a physics-defying dog, a shell-duck and a cardmaster-slash-gangster in the same place at once.
This takes into account EVERYTHING Freedom Planet made by fans. This includes art, videos (reviews don’t count), memes, fan fictions weather it be just text or have imagery, cosplayers and the behavior of FP fans at conventions and online. Hell, even the hentai and smut has a say in this!
everyone ive seen over the years seems pretty chill
You know what, you’re right. I hella toxic FP fans do exist, but you never hear from them do you?
I can only base my experiences on the speedrunning community. Of which all I will say is that they are neither bad or good in my opinion. They say that the Galaxy Trail discord is very terrible but that is probably because they only play the game for speedrunning and arent too big of casual fans (but this is only my guess)

Yeah, it’s semi toxic. We’re not trying to kill each other (Undertale) or arguing with everyone (DBZ) or gushing over a cartoon made for little girls (MLP) or trying to force our fandom on to others (Steven Universe). But are not perfect either, for we are held back by those who fit the mold of stereotypical Sonic fan. The hentai isn’t that bad, but the ones that are not bad make up about 45% of all Freedom Planet hentai cus everything else is disgusting weird ass fetishes and cross overs with Sonic or Spyro
