The AA meetings consists of alcoholic addicts and not professionals such as counsellors or psychologists. The meetings are not religiously based, they welcome members of all religions, agnostics and atheists alike. There are no restrictions, you can come and go as you please and there is no sign-up or subscription fees.

Al-Anon Family Groups is a spiritual fellowship, not a religious one, where members share their own experiences. All age groups and races are welcome. Meetings are conducted on a walk-in basis.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS SOUTH AFRICA
Narcotics Anonymous South Africa is a non-profit organization that consists of both men and women who have had drug-related problems.
Areas covered are Johannesburg, Pretoria, Eastern Cape and Kwazulu-Natal.
Most members are recovering addicts who meet on a regular basis throughout South Africa to prevent each other from relapse. They focus on the disease of addiction rather than drugs themselves. Meetings are open to all genders, races, creeds or religions.

THE SOUTH AFRICAN DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY GROUP
The South African Depression And Anxiety Group (SADAG) is Africa's largest mental health support and advocacy group for education and destigmatisation of mental illness in the country.
They are a Non-Profit registered organisation, with an 18a tax exemption. There team consists of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and General Practitioners. SADAG manages a 16-line counselling-and-referral call centre, and is the voice of patient advocacy, working in urban, peri-urban, and the most rural communities across South Africa.
