"Love is a Four Letter Word", aka The Love Girls (1966) appears to be the first full-length film to show a fetishistic sorority initiation ceremony. The hazing includes bondage, blindfolds, ice rubbing, and hard spanking with a big sorority paddle. A sexploitation gem by Bob Cresse and R. L. Frost. They specialized in harsh grindhouse "roughies", but this obscure film is more of a dark psychological study of repressed desire.

Two senior girls are disciplined in class in a highly jocular atmosphere. Each girl receives six swats from a heavy-looking paddle. This punishment is informal even by American standards, to the point of appearing chaotic. It is not carried out with the recipient bent over a chair or desk but rather is performed with the teacher holding on to a pocket of the recipient's trousers.
In this clip, two schoolboys are seen receiving three brisk paddle swats each. We seem to be in a locker room, so presumably the teacher doing the spanking is a sports coach. He looks as if he is familiar with performing this task. The paddle appears to be made of Lexan or some similar material. The first student thinks he is getting only one swat and is told he is getting three. The culprits stand up straight, holding on to a shelf. There is a rather raucous atmosphere among one or two other students present, but the swats are real and hard. This is at Richwood Middle School in Monroe, Louisiana. See this Oct 2013 news item .
This clip is thought to be from New Orleans. A young boy, said to be a member of the school band, receives two paddle swats. After the first swat he jumps around in pain and seems reluctant to put his hands on the desk for the second one. Eventually he is persuaded to resume the position, and after the second swat he again jumps about, clutching his backside.
This very brief video clip from a High School in Louisiana shows two one-swat paddlings glimpsed at the end of a corridor.
Another very short clip, this time giving a fleeting glimpse of a one-swat paddling in a Kentucky high school, apparently in the office and viewed through Venetian blinds. It is a feeble swat and takes place in a jocular atmosphere.
This film comes from Louisiana. A high-school student puts his hands on the desk at the front of the class for what the teacher evidently intended to be a three-swat paddling. However, after the second swat the boy walks away and leaves the room.
This from an unknown location in the United States shows a high-school student receiving one hard paddle swat at the teacher's desk. There is shrieking hilarity from noisy girls in the class, but the teacher and the recipient seem serious. The boy then goes back to his place, from where he gets into an argument with the teacher and/or his classmates. It is difficult to tell what is being said, but he seems to be declining suggestions that he go back for a second swat. The clip ends before the outcome, if any, of this dispute is clear.
