Frames 1.3.0 - GPX Export Arrives
FramesVersion 1.3.0 of Frames for iOS is now live, and it introduces something many users have asked for: .gpx export support.
You can now export a GPX file that includes geolocation data for all shots in a roll, giving you a clear, portable track of your photo walk or shoot.
This makes it easier to:
- Archive your sessions with GPS trails
- Match your scans with map data
- Use your metadata in tools like Lightroom, Photo Mechanic, or Google Earth
Frames doesn’t just guess your location, it uses your own shot-by-shot logs, giving a more accurate representation of your process than generic phone tracking ever could.
Why It Matters
For film photographers who want to preserve more than just an image, location can be a meaningful layer. Whether it’s documenting a road trip or retracing the steps of a hike, your GPS trail now travels with you, on your terms.
We built GPX export with the same care as the rest of Frames:
✅ Everything stays offline
✅ Nothing is tracked or uploaded
✅ You choose what to keep, export, or forget
Behind the Scenes
This feature was shaped directly by conversations with users, from street photographers logging urban routes to large-format shooters plotting landscapes. If you're someone who likes full control over their data, this one’s for you.
Frames remains cloud-free and distraction-free, built to serve your creative flow, not capture your attention.
