Mozilla Firefox

Popular and widely used internet browser software
Mozilla Firefox is a feature-rich and highly customizable web browser that’s user-friendly enough for beginners and sophisticated enough for advanced users.
Firefox has managed to retain significant market share despite stiff competition from Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer and Edge. Speed has also been a priority of the Mozilla team, and that’s something Firefox has always and continues to do well. The UI has lagged behind at times due to that focus, but that really isn’t the case anymore. The Firefox UI is sleek, modern and customizable.
As mentioned, Firefox has always been a fast web browser, and the latest iteration may be the fastest on the market. It also boasts an intuitive and well-organized UI, which makes navigating easy and enjoyable and really lets you get the most out of the fast page loads and transitions. You may like the UI uncluttered, as it is by default, but you can also customize it to your liking if you don’t.
Firefox has all the features you expect from a modern web browser, such as a tabbed interface, synchronization and backup and restore. There’s a Panorama feature, and the option to reclaim a tab you’ve closed accidentally is really useful in practice. The browser has a clever inline search feature that finds words and phrases fast. It’s also an excellent browser for performing online research because it has integrated conveniences, such as sticky notes and archived histories.
The browser is also highly customizable through add-ons. Some of these add-ons are even developed by Mozilla but not enabled by default, such as voice tool that lets you navigate the web by speaking rather than typing. There’s also an active community of developers who make a wide range of extensions that can help you block ads, capture videos and expand bookmark management.
Firefox also offers excellent security, including the ability to block viruses, malware, phishing attempts and other threats. It also has an incognito mode that lets you surf privately, and this mode has no outward indication, so people looking over your shoulder won’t know. Security is kept current through automatic updates, which you can disable, and there are also numerous security options you can use to ramp up how strict the browser is with websites.
The browser is a bit slow to load the first time it loads in a current session. Modern CPUs tend to mask that slowness, but even if not, it’s likely a small price to pay for the speed you’ll experience with each page load and transition. Another potential issue is support. There’s an excellent knowledge base and a large community to lean on, but Mozilla is difficult to reach for direct support.

Get the people-first browser that’s backed by a non-profit. Choose Firefox to be your go-to browser and help shape a better internet for you, your family and community. Download Firefox now. When you use Firefox, you’re helping support Mozilla, which is backed by a non-profit foundation whose mission is to ensure the internet remains a global public resource, open and accessible to everyone. We know there are a lot of choices out there, some of them produced by huge tech companies, but in choosing Firefox you’re joining a unique community that’s actively helping to diversify the way people experience the internet. Firefox is extremely private for a reason — and the reason is you. Recently, a lot of internet browsers started talking about their new and improved privacy features, and we think that’s great. But for us, privacy isn’t the latest buzzword in the browser business. Since version 1 in 2004, we’ve taken privacy seriously, because we’ve always been in the business of valuing people first, over everything. When you care more about people than you do about profits, privacy naturally becomes a top priority. STREAMLINED HOME SCREEN Pick up right where you left off. See all your open tabs intuitively grouped and displayed along with your recent bookmarks, top sites and popular articles recommended by Pocket. FAST. PRIVATE. SAFE. Keep what’s personal private without sacrificing speed. With Firefox, you can have more control to decide what to share online and when. We designed Firefox with smart browsing features that let you take your privacy, password and bookmarks with you wherever you go. MAKE FIREFOX YOUR OWN Make Firefox your go-to, get-it-done, default browser. And with Firefox widgets, you can jump right to searching the web or using private-browsing mode straight from your phone’s home screen. PRIVACY CONTROL IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES Firefox gives you greater privacy protection while you’re on the web. By default, Firefox blocks trackers and scripts such as social media trackers, cross-site cookie trackers, crypto-miners and fingerprinters. In addition to Apple’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention, setting Firefox’s Enhanced Tracking Protection to “strict” blocks tracking content in all windows. Also, you can easily choose to search in private browsing mode. And when you close private browsing mode, your browsing history and any cookies are automatically erased from your device. SEAMLESS BROWSING ACROSS DEVICES Add Firefox across your devices for secure, seamless browsing. Sync your devices and send open tabs between mobile and desktop. Firefox makes password management easy by remembering your passwords across devices. FIND IT FAST WITH FIREFOX’S SEARCH BAR Get search suggestions in the search bar and quickly access the sites you visit most. Type in your search question and get suggested and previously searched results across your favorite search engines. GET ADD-ONS Full support for the most popular add-ons, including ways to turbo-charge powerful default privacy settings and customize your experience. ORGANIZE YOUR TABS THE WAY YOU LIKE Create as many tabs as you like without losing track. Firefox displays your open tabs as thumbnails and numbered tabs, making it easy to find what you want quickly. SHARE ANYTHING IN A FEW TAPS Firefox makes it easy to share links to web pages or specific items on a page with easy, quick access to your most recently used apps. Overall, I like the app a lot more than Chrome. I've always been a fan of Firefox and the mobile app works quite well overall. There is one complaint that I have with it so far: every time the keyboard pops up, the app zooms in on the plafe you're typing. I'd really like a way to turn this off in settings as it makes things like using IM services built in to websites to talk to businesses rather difficult, because you can't see the whole screen/the product you are inquiring about while typing.

Plenty of features both functional and cosmetic, some of which Chrome doesn't have. Built-in support for extensions/add-ons is the biggest step over Chrome on mobile, and little things like being able to move the address bar to the bottom of the screen for easier reach and a wide variety of privacy-driven options make the experience all the better.

I want to like Firefox, but switching to it has not been going well. The worst thing is that it doesn't keep private tabs up if you leave the app for a few minutes. I still want to use those, I even leave them up for weeks at a time. It's also inconvenient that it doesn't have a grouping tabs feature. Apparently you can't choose where downloads save either. These are all vital functions of a browser to me. I want to support Firefox, but I can't switch to using it with these conditions.

New * Credit card autofill will now ask to save and update card information when filling out forms. Fixed * When switching between apps Firefox should remain running. * Password autofill with a locked and not running Bitwarden password now works. * Resolved a problem when tapping on the search widget with PiP enabled would crash. * Resolved a problem with large clipboard contents causing a crash when the keyboard was opened. Happy copy and pasting!
