Genital piercings are those situated around sexual organs. Female genital piercings are way more common than male genital and intimate piercings . We therefore propose this guide which will present most female intimate piercings , with a description and basic informations for each of them.
All types of jewellery may be used for genital piercings. Genitals piercings are only democratising since a few years. They are becoming fashionable, after having been used in bondage, S&M and fetichist movements. Their role is more decorative than sexual. These piercings, especially for girls, are nevertheless often very stimulative and bring a lot of additional sexual pleasure. However, the location of the piercing and the sensitivity of the woman who wears it have a lot of influence on this pleasure, on the fact that is it more or less intense, or even absent or distrubing. That's why piercing on the clitoris are less and less common because of the risk of total desensitisation. It is now advised to pierce on the clitoris hood instead.
Generally speaking, it is recommended to take good care of the cicatrisation of genital piercings, which is usually rather fast. It is important to note that there is a risk of accident which can be painful, in particular during the sexual act. It is therefore advised to wear large-sized clothes (coton is best) and to avoid frictions with the jewel. Professionals will tell you to avoid sexual contacts during one month and will recommend to wash the jewel with hot water and salt, using a cotton bud (as for nipple piercing ). Actually, the size of the jewel for a genital piercing should be 1.6mm/14G minimum (up to 2 mm). Under this size, the risk of cutting or rejection is too important (as for tongue piercing ).
We also sell piercings and here is an overview of our best sales:
The clitoris piercing is rather painful during the passage of the needle, but it is reported that this pain only lasts 2 seconds. This piercing is rather recent and only appeared in a contemporary time. This piercing is only possible on a relatively large clitoris, it is therefore not possible on every women. Clitoris piercing can be done horizontally or vertically, depending on the anatomy of the candidate. These few constraints, added to the high risk of total desensitisation of the clitoris (even if the opposite can happen too) lead many professionals to stop piercing the clitoris itself. It is more common to pierce the hood instead.
Piercing at the clitoral hood is way more common than clitoris piercing since it brings stimulation to the clitoris without any risk of desensitisation. The clitoral hood is the little piece of skin which covers the clitoris. When pierced vertically, the sexual stimulation will be stronger, or even permanent: in that case, the extremity of the jewel lay directly on the clitoris. It is reported to be a unique sensation unreachable otherwise. Horizontally clitoral hood piercing also allows to reach new sensations, but in that case it's rather the esthetic aspect which is the source of motivation. When processing to this piercing, a guide is often used in order to avoid touching the clitoris itself with the needle. This piercing generally costs 70 euros (in France).
The Christina piercing is a vertical piercing located at the junction of the two outer labias, on the top. This piercing was realised for the first time in the 90's by Tom Brazda and became more common only a few years ago. It has rather an esthetic function than a sexual stimulant function.
Fourchette piercing is somehow the opposite of Christine piercing, being situated at the jointure of the two labias, but this time at the bottom back of the vagina.
Piercing at inner and outer labias reappeared recently in the fetichist movement with the purpose to be able to close and prevent access to the vagina thanks to rings or padlocks. This piercing was originally born in the antique Rome to prevent slaves from having sexual intercourses. It has now become a piercing very simple and common. Both labias are often pierced symmetrically for esthetic reasons. Inner and outer labias piercing can bring a more intense sexual pleasure, especially for the partner. It is said that piercing to outer labias is more painful than to inner labias because of the thickness of the skin. This piercing is one of the rare feminine genital piercing that can be enlarged thanks to the technics of stretching (this may even increase again the sexual pleasure).
This piercing is located under the clitoris, horizontally, at the junction of the two inner labias. Triangle piercing is only accessible by a few lucky women. To do this piercing, it is required to have a little more skin than "usual" under the cap of the clitoris. It is reported that this piercing brings more sexual pleasure than any other classic feminine genital piercing; it is the only way to stimulate the clitoris by its back which is said to procure unique sensations. The first Triangle piercing was realised in 1991 by Elayne Angel.
Nefertiti piercing is in fact the combination of a vertical piercing on the hood of the clitoris and a Christina piercing. The jewel therefore stimulates the clitoris and procures an increased sexual pleasure but the fact that it comes out on the top of the vagina can provoke the disconforts of the Christina piercing.
Is it possible to get a Christina piercing but a little higher up so it sits about an inch higher in the pubic bone area. I worry the lower part of the piercing is located in a position that will interfere with certain oral positions for my partner. But as it is just a for looks piercing the exact position shouldn't make a real difference or would I have to look into the whole implant type procedure to get it there instead.
Anony, seems to me you are just nit-picking, maybe even a bit spiteful, about my correction. Some people, for reasons unknown, take delight in misinforming people in their internet posts; whether it be "freedom of expression" crapping on, or deliberate and destructive misinformation, it is harmful, and destroys people's trust in a site that supports such destructiveness. I take the attitude that misinformation in a post should be flagged, and if the flagger is capable of making the correction in a clear and reliable manner, then he should do so. Allowing the misinformation to go unflagged and uncorrected is irresponsible.
@zarathustra: oh get over it its not that serious, the comment rules are about spelling not terminology. And if it is one should use more than one source for research or better yet don't get pierced especially if common sense and knowledge cant help you figure out what he meant
G'day Erik, just an after-thought regarding the Nefertiti, I have read that use of a nylon or similar plastic bar is preferable to a metal bar as it is flexible. This sounds quite sensdible to me, when you consider that there is considerable movement taking place on the lower reaches of the bar during both normal and sexual activity.
Perhaps some users of the Nefertiti piercing may be able to give us a "user's guide" to the Nerfertiti.
Cheers.
@Zarathustra: Hi, you must be right. I'm sorry for the faults but the original version of this article is in french (on votrepiercing.com) and it was translated by a french person. If you could write some corrections I'll be happy to update the text in order to correct it. Thank you :)
Erik, the "Vagina" is the cavity that is used for pleasure and birthing; I think you really mean "vulva", the whole exterior female genitalia.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to paste a decent annotated diagram, but basically, old chap, the piercing begins at the clit hood, passes along the outer clit shaft and enters the supra-pubic region, emerging above the pubic commisure below the mons. You will notice, I'm sure, that this is far away from the vagina, in fact at the other end of the pudendal cleft. Yes, it can be a long piercing, depending on the length of the clitoral shaft, and how high above the commisure the piercing exits.
This makes your statement "but the fact that it comes out on the top of the vagina can provoke the disconforts of the Christina piercing" rather stupid and confusing.
Yes,I had a very tiny needle....like at the dentist....never felt a thing! That would be the only way I could have the courage to get a triangle piercing!!!!

@zarathustra: Hello, thank you for your comment. We would be happy to update our article if you could explain us how goes the Nefertiti in your opinion. Thank you.
@sharlie: I think it depends on your piercer, but I never heard about "frozing" an area before doing a piercing.
According to YOUR description, the Nefertiti is a VERY VERY long piercing, all the way from " the top of the vagina", across (through??) the vestibule, under the clitoris, and so on. OR did you mean to say it began at the clitoris and came out AT THE TOP OF THE VULVA?
Get your nomenclature correct buddy; confusion reigns due to sloppy statements like yours.
Is the pubic area frozen before the piercing? I had my navel done in Peru and they froze it so there was no pain whatsoever

When it comes to female genital piercing I have done some really exciting procedures and some extremely nice work. I have a great understanding of the female anatomy and I have been using only the best methods for female genital procedures, the highest quality body jewellery in the industry and of course state-of-the-art sterilization methods.
With genital work, I typically work appointment only and prefer a sit down consultation prior to the work being done.
If you are at all interested in female genital work and would like to know what types of piercings there are for you to choose from, here are a few of the most popular female genital procedures I perform:
Vertical Hood: Along with the horizontal hood this is the most common female genital piercing. It passes through the clitoral hood from a single point and allows the jewellery to lie directly on top on the stem of the clit. Stimulation varies from woman to woman. Most women wear a curved bar in this piercing, though a ring is not uncommon. I start this piercing at either a 12g or 10g, always preferring the larger.
Horizontal Hood: This piercing passes through the clitoral hood horizontally and allows the ring to lie across the stem of the clit and the bead to lie directly on the clit itself. Usually round pieces of jewellery are worn in this piercing such as captive rings or circular barbells and I pierce horizontal hoods starting at 12g or 10g or larger.
Inner Labia: These piercings heal extremely quickly and are often done in pairs. For most women, these piercings are strictly meant for esthetic looks over anything else. Some women will wear one ring through the two piercings to create a chastity device. These piercings I perform with 10g rings and larger.
Outer Labia: These piercings pass through the labia majora and are sometimes slow to heal. Much like the inner labia, they offer little to no sensation and are worn mainly for esthetic purposes. These piercings I pierce with 10g rings and larger.
Fourchette: A fourchette piercing is a labial piercing done at the rear rim of the vagina. I perform this piercing using a 10g curved bar or in rare occasions a straight bar. This piercing is probably one of the least performed female genital piercings.
Triangle: Not to be confused with a deep horizontal hood piercing, the piercing passes underneath the clitoral shaft. This piercing is anatomy dependent. I always have a consultation with the client to determine if they are suitable for this procedure โ not all women are good candidates for this piercing. Most women agree that this piercing offers more stimulation than any other female genital piercing because it puts pressure on the clitoris from the underneath. I normally start this piercing with a 10g ring and have a follow up appointment to make sure it is healing fine. Some women need to change the jewellery diameter or shape for optimal healing and normal wear. With that being said, this piercing is normally easy to heal without problems.
Christina: This piercing starts on the outside the top of the hood and exits through the pubic mound, and is quite often a surface piercing. Like the Triangle, I always have a consultation prior to doing the work because, most women need a custom-made piece if they are not suited for a surface bar. I usually start this piercing at a 14g or a 12g depending on the client and their anatomy, as well as the jewellery we are going to use.
Nefertiti: This is personally my favorite of all the female genital piercings. For a long while I had been performing this piercing not knowing that it had already been done and named! Imagine a vertical hood meets a Christina piercing. It travels from the public mound, and rather than exiting above the top of the clitoral hood like the Christina, it follows through the entire hood, and the bottom sits exactly like a vertical hood piercing. This is not to be confused with an Isabella piercing, which is considered a much riskier and rarer piercing than the Nefertiti. A consultation is once again needed prior to doing the actual work, as jewellery is again an issue dependent on anatomy. I usually perform this piercing with a 14g or 12g custom-made bar.
I always use the highest quality jewellery in the industry to pierce with. From high grade polish to the finest internal threading Iโve ever seen and used, our friends at Anatometal make the best quality body jewellery on earth. I always stock every gauge, diameter and style at all times and consult on custom pieces. With my high standards of sterilization, best methods for these procedures and optimal placement, I have carved out a reputation in this industry as a specialist when it comes to female genital piercing.
