Founding Full Stack Developer / Product Engineer

Parent Platforms is building Dadamom, a parent-tech platform designed to make family life easier, more organized, and more connected.
We are building a trusted product for parents: family-friendly places, trusted services, family profiles, parent-to-parent connection, partner workflows, and AI-powered support. The goal is not to build “another AI app”, but a practical platform that becomes part of everyday family life.
We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer / Product Engineer to join the early team and help build the first real version of the product.
Role Overview
You’ll work directly with Product and Design to turn early concepts into usable product features across web and mobile-first experiences.
This is a zero-to-one role. You’ll help define the architecture, data model, development process, and technical foundation of the platform. You should be comfortable working with ambiguity, making tradeoffs, and shipping fast without overengineering.
This role can start as a developer position and grow into a Founding Engineer or technical leadership role if the fit is strong.
What You’ll Build
* Parent profiles and matching
* Child/family cards and structured family data
* Discovery of family-friendly places and trusted services
* Search, filters, categories, maps, and saved places
* Partner/provider pages and lightweight booking/request flows
* Internal admin tools for managing places, services, partners, content, and moderation
* AI assistant features based on user context and platform data
* Authentication, permissions, notifications, and core backend infrastructure
* APIs and workflows for future partner integrations
What You’ll Do
* Build full-stack product features using modern web technologies
* Design clean, scalable backend architecture and data models
* Create internal tools that help the team manage content and operations
* Work closely with Product and Design on UI, UX, prototypes, and iteration
* Integrate third-party APIs such as maps, auth, payments, messaging, or AI tools
* Make pragmatic technical decisions for an early-stage product
* Ship quickly while keeping the system maintainable and secure
Tech Stack
Current / planned stack:
Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript
Backend: Node.js, REST APIs
Database: PostgreSQL
Infra: Supabase / Firebase / AWS / GCP
Mobile: responsive web first; React Native later
AI: OpenAI API / LLM integrations, RAG or vector search as needed
Integrations: maps, auth, payments, notifications, partner APIs
You don’t need to know everything listed above. Strong full-stack fundamentals and product judgment matter more than checking every box.
What We’re Looking For
* Strong experience with React / Next.js / TypeScript
* Strong backend skills with Node.js or similar
* Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database
* Ability to design APIs, permissions, and scalable data structures
* Experience building real products, not just landing pages
* Comfort with early-stage uncertainty and fast iteration
* Good UI/UX judgment and attention to product quality
* Ownership mindset: you think in outcomes, not just tickets
* Clear communication and honest execution
Bonus Points
* Experience with marketplaces, local discovery, maps, or booking products
* Experience with social/community products
* Experience with family, education, health, or consumer products
* Experience with AI assistants, OpenAI API, RAG, or automation workflows
* Experience building admin panels and internal tools
* Experience with React Native
* Experience with privacy-sensitive user data
Compensation
We offer flexible compensation depending on experience, commitment level, and role scope.
* This can be structured as salary, salary + equity, or a deeper long-term ownership package for the right person. Equity will be subject to a standard vesting schedule.
