Crowe was born in in Wellington, New Zealand on April 7, 1964.
His family relocated to Sydney , Australia when he was four-years-old. Crowe attended school until age 16 when he left to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional actor.
After spending some time playing guitar in a band and managing a music venue, Crowe worked in several theater productions before landing an appearance on the TV show Neighbours in 1987. He later made his feature film debut in the 1990 film Prisoners of the Sun and later won acclaim for his role in the 1992 movie Romper Stomper.
Crowe continued to build his resume steadily throughout the 1990s, earning critical acclaim for his roles in films like L.A. Confidential in 1997 and The Insider in 1999.

She split her time between Australia and the UK growing up and soon became involved in the entertainment business, following in the footsteps of her father, Don Spencer, a TV show host and musician.
