Forum on Strengthening Cooperation in Poverty Reduction

October 19, The Global Forum on “Global Cooperation for Sustainable Development: Poverty Reduction and Rural Development” organized by the National Rural Rehabilitation Administration of the People's Republic of China was held in the format of video conferencing. At this event, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov made a video message to the participants, who, in turn, shared Uzbekistan's view of one of the most pressing issues of today, the fight against poverty.

           The event was also attended by Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Hu Chunhua, Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Qu Dongyu, Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Dato Lim Jock Hoi and others.

           In addition, within the framework of the Forum, a ceremony of signing a Memorandum between the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the International Center for Poverty Reduction of the People's Republic of China was held.

           The signing ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Saidkakhkhor Kholhudjaev and the Head of the International Center for Poverty Reduction of the PRC Lu Zenwen.

           The parties noted that this memorandum will play an important role in strengthening bilateral cooperation, within the framework of which work will be carried out to exchange experiences, opinions and ideas in the field of poverty reduction, as well as the implementation of pilot projects in the regions of Uzbekistan, based on the best practices of the PRC in combating poverty.
