Fortnite Cross-play Row Overshadows First Day Of E3
The arrival of Fortnite on the Nintendo Swap has been marred by Sony’s resolution to not permit full cross-platform support between the PlayStation and the Swap console. Minecraft crafting
The popular battle royale sport was launched on the Switch on Tuesday, and will now allow players using an Xbox One, Laptop, Mac pc or cell to pick up their Swap and carry on where they left off.
However, Sony has blocked the identical system from its PlayStation 4 - as a substitute asking customers to create a new account.
“This Fortnite account is associated with a platform which does not allow it to function on Swap,” says a failed log-in message within Fortnite with a PS4-linked account.

To play Fornite on Switch, please create a new account.”The incident has sparked widespread anger on social media, with followers and trade insiders urging Sony to alter its coverage, together with video video games writer Greg Miller from Kinda Humorous, who warned the choice “makes me suppose about transferring to Xbox for Fortnite.”

In the meantime, rival gaming large Microsoft poked fun at Sony’s stance, with its official UK Twitter account posting a message to Nintendo asking if the company wished to “play some Fortnite later?”.

Sony has not commented on the incident however has blocked cross-play capabilities for different games previously, for games together with Minecraft.
It comes because the E3 gaming convention opened in Los Angeles.
