Fortnite Creative has Courses For Minecraft Educators Now

Fortnite Creative can be an effective tool for learning in much the same way as Minecraft can be. It may seem odd to people who are not in the classroom anymore, but Minecraft's Education version is extremely popular, which is probably why Fortnite Creative has courses to assist users in using both.

The Epic blog published the course on the blog recently. It is specifically designed to assist "secondary educators understand Minecraft how Fortnite Creative can be used in the classroom." It consists of 11 videos and shows the various features and functions of Fortnite Creative to demonstrate how users can use it for teaching.

The blog post itself provides an overview of what are likely to be the two biggest differences between the two games in terms of building. Minecraft, as you probably already know, is about building things brick by brick, while Fortnite provides assets that are ready to use instead. It's theoretically faster to build in Fortnite however, it may lack some of the complexity provided by the other primary difference: the coding elements.

Minecraft can be used to teach the logical side of programming because of how complicated command blocks and Redstone mechanisms can be. Fortnite doesn't have that level of depth, but it does mimic the same freedom using different mechanisms and devices. Things like the Item Placer device allow players to easily observe how their actions affect the world while they're being utilized. This provides an immediate feedback loop which, as any parent with kids will inform you, is an essential aspect of teaching them. It's a bit crazy to see Fortnite publicly discussing bringing in Minecraft creators.
