There are numerous reasons why people modify cars, but in doing so, thankfully not everyone follows the same script – even when it’s a rare car and there’s an ‘accepted’ method.
Case in point, Darren Whitfield and his V8-repowered 1972 Mk1 Ford Escort Mexico – the subjects of a new Speedhunters video by Jason Laroza.
With its custom wide body work, big wing and V8 rumble, Escort purists might look at the Whitspeed creation disapprovingly, but Darren couldn’t care a less – he’s having way too much fun putting 340hp to the ground and hitting 150mph in his bespoke beast. We love it!

BADASS.I love that he threw a v8 in it...there are no gauges to be found but I see a cd player haha if mine, my only change would be a more square IMSA/ Group B rally style flair on the fenders and quarters..but its not mine haha
LukeEVOVIII Screaming BDAs are expensive and YB swaps are common in the UK. V8s are rare in comparison.
Turbo yb swaps are common (I am in the UK). Yes v8s may be rare by comparison but they are quite boring for a legendary car like a Mk1 Escort. But hey, each to their own, now my car U0001f44d

В общем это моя первая машина. Была куплена в декабре 2012 (какраз перед концом света :)). Долго искал подходящую иномарку-все советовали брать дизелёк WV GOLF 2 или Jetta 2, но после многих осмотров "корыт в идеальном состоянии" попался на глаза бензиновый Ford 1993 года выпуска, после осмотра у себя на СТО и одобрения отцом-решено было брать!Машына оказалась в неплохом состоянии (учитывая что многие отговаривали мол "гниёт как ТАЗы"), из наворотов только ГУР, на 95% в родной краске, родной не затёртый салон, арки и пороги не менялись-вобщем либо очень хорошо смотрели за ней либо мало ездили. Движок 1.6 16V Zetec .Реальный пробег к сожелению не известен, так как на одометре только 5 цыфр (щас 65350). Из обнаруженых пока недостатков-подгнившые задние лонжероны и левый порог в месте поддомкрата.
Что сделано по машыне после покупки (состояние на сегодня): По кузову — Полная переварка (новые лонжероны, пороги и днище) — Полный антикор (пескоструй, епоксидка, краска, антигравий, мастика) — Полний перекрас (всего до чего добрался) — Вибро и шумоизоляция (пока только частичная) По мотору — Замена всех жидкостей — Замена прокладки выпускного коллектора — Замена ремня ГРМ и роликов — Чистка КХХ и дроселя — Замена задней опоры КПП, вернее переделка под гидроопору — Полная читска инжектора и впускного тракта — Удаление катализатора и установка пламягасителя и нового резонатора По ходовой — "Реставрация" сцепления — Замена заднего правого ступичного подшипника — Востановление троса ручника — Востановление задних тормозных колодок — Замена стойки переднего стабилизатора — Замена втулок переднего стабилизатора — Замена задних пружин +1 стойки — Рестарврация рулевой рейки (вернее втулки) — Востановление шлангов ГУР По салону — Полное востановление печки (замена радиатора и промивка ходов + реставрация заслонок) — Тонировка — Установка приборки с тахометром — Стирка и мойка всего салона — Переклейка потолка — Доработка подсветки салона — Доработка електрики по мелочам — Установка ЦЗ и сигналки

А на последней фотке, что со стрелкой температуры?) Да, а при выключеном зажигании стрелка уровня топлива, тоже не падает?)
Не знаю как должно быть но у меня топливо показивает при вкл и выкл зажигании одинаково, а температура только при включеном .:))
С топливом и у меня такая трабла:))
