Fluminense came into their match against Sao Paulo looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss last weekend. They knew Sao Paulo would not make it easy, as Sao Paulo had been playing very well as of late and sat higher than Fluminense in the league table.

The first half saw Endrick give Sao Paulo an early lead in the 10th minute with a brilliant finish after a great team move. Fluminense struggled to generate many chances in response, still feeling the effects of their prior defeat. Sao Paulo continued to look dangerous on the counter attack with Calleri and Rodrigo Nestor linking up well.

Fluminense made two changes at halftime bringing on Willian Bigode and Yago up front hoping their experience could shift momentum. The changes had an instant impact, as Bigode scored within two minutes of the restart volleying home from inside the box after a corner was poorly cleared. This sparked Fluminense into life and they began dominating possession. 😮

In the 65th minute Fluminense took the lead, Felipe Melo releasing Nonato down the left who cut inside and curled in a superb shot into the top corner beyond the grasp of Sao Paulo's goalkeeper. Fluminense now had complete command of the midfield through players like André and Martinelli who protected the backline excellently.

Sao Paulo threw on attacking subs like Éder and Rogério to try change things but Fluminense defended their box tremendously. In second half stoppage time Marrony had the chance to seal the win on the break, but his shot struck the post. 聾 Regardless, Fluminense had done enough to claim the three points and halt their losing streak. 🙌 Their resilience was admirable in battling back from 1-0 down against tough opponents. Both teams will look to build on this performances in their upcoming matches. 👏 - https://mbscore.tv/match/fluminense-vs-sao-paulo-18791349
