In the Johto region, there are a lot of cultures and traditions, especially in blackthorn city, home of the eight Johto Gym Leader Clair. She was the strongest gym leader of the region, and even claims to be at the level of the Kanto elite four. Clair was a beautiful woman, she had long cyan hair tied into a ponytail, blue eyes, and a slender body. But she was also a short-tempered woman, who hardly accepts defeat. Lately, her pride was damaged by a trainer named Ethan. She lost to him and in shock, refuses to give him the rising badge until he passes the Dragon’s den to prove his value, and for her disbelieve, he did it. Now she felt even more humiliated, not only he defeat her, but also passes the test even she could not pass, and now the only option for her was to do the mature thing to do and give him the badge. Ethan did not hold a grudge against Clair. The trip to the dragon’s den helps him to get a dratini and more experience, things that would come in handy to his adventure. And after all, he was already used to the entitled leaders of the Johto region. First Whitney’s tantrum when he beat her, then Jasmine who refuses to fight him unless he goes all the way to an island gets her a potion, and now Clair and her superiority complex. The three girls were as beautiful as they were annoying, which Ethan believes was balanced at least.Now a couple of months passes after that. Clair was still mad about that defeat. To add salt to the wound, Ethan even defeated her cousin Lance, the Pokémon League Champion. She trains day and night with the hope to get her payback at Ethan. She found new team members, leveled up, and study new strategies, she was a new trainer now, stronger than she ever was. On the other hand, Ethan now the most powerful trainer of Johto, took things otherwise. He just becomes 18, and now he was interested in something other than Pokémon, girls. He was often watched with different girls flirting or having dates, not only that now he has his own fan club formed on its entirety of girls who adored him. He used his fame as champion to get all the girls he wanted, but that was about to end. He already got bored of that, so he decided to go after harder targets, from strong trainers to even gym leaders.Clair finally decided that she was ready, so she called Ethan on his pokegear to challenge him to a battle, as a champion he had to take challenges from any trainer to keep his title. -Hello, this is Ethan Aka the champ, who is this? -Hey, it’s being a while, it's Claire. -Excuse me, Claire, who? – Ethan was used to be called by girls at this point, he did not even recognize Claire’s voice. -How in the world could you forget about me!? It is Claire, the blackthorn city gym leader. Ethan did not want to deal with her right now, he already tried to invite Misty on a date and was rejected badly, a huge blow to his ego. He was definitely not in the mood. -Heeey, so, umm, how are you? – Ethan forced himself to be polite. -I am better than ever, you know, I have been training hard since the last time we battle, and as you could imagine, I want a rematch. And of course, I will not take a no as an answer. -Sorry, I am very busy at the time, but maybe we can fight some other time… -I know what you been up to lately, all that time chasing girls had made you a weak champion, is that it? Ethan thought to himself (Damn, so those damn reporters had been following me again) He was even madder now, so he ditched politeness and just said what he really felt. -Look, what I do in my free time is my own business. And as a matter of fact, you are the only one interested on fight me, what would I win if I accept? -What kind of champion are you? Lance would not say such things you know. You need to learn some respect for the title of champion. -You are losing me, Claire, if you want to fight me so bad you need to do better than that. - Claire took a deep breath, but she was pretty sure of herself and took the bait anyway. -Fine, what do you want? -He was just a kid though Claire, maybe he got out of money or something stupid like that. He was indeed going to ask for something stupid, but then he understood the real opportunity he had right in front of him. -I will fight you… If we go on a date first. -Yeah yeah, whatever but… WHAT? – That was the last thing she would ever expect from him. They did not even get along, why in the world would he want to date her? -Wow, even I did not expect you to accept that easily. Just to be clear, I want a REAL date. If I do not feel like it is one, I will just walk out. Do you agree with my terms or not? -Do you realize I am way older than you? – Claire tried to talk in some sense on him, also she could not hide that she was a bit blushed. Ethan wanted to date her to add a new gym leader on his record, but now that he thinks about it… Claire was not bad at all. She had the looks, of course, the only drowning point was her character, but came to that, Ethan never dated a girl with that kind of personality. It was kind of interesting, to say the least. -Just a couple of years, it is not a big deal… But if you do not want… -W-wait. Fine, we will do as you want. It will only make more satisfying when I get to kick your ass. -Cool, so see you in the national park at 10 am on Sunday. Until then, bye-bye. – Ethan hung up quick. It actually worked; he could not believe it. What would he do with her? He did not even know what she liked, so naturally, he was really nervous about it. Clair on the other hand finally put her thought in order. She really accepted to go out on a date with a younger man, not only that, the trainer who causes her so many troubles of all people. And to make it worse, she did not have any actual experience on dates. She never was even interested in such things, she always wanted to be the best Dragon-type Pokémon trainer in the world and nothing else. But still, the thought of going out with someone amuses her somehow. The day finally comes, Ethan made sure to be the first to arrive. He knew that Clair was the type of girl who would complain if he is even a minute late. But to his surprise, at 10:15 am she would still not arrive. -I wonder if she is even going to come. – Ethan was about to give up and go home when he saw a beautiful woman walking to him. She was wearing a black skirt, not short enough to be a mini but still shows her beautiful legs. She also was wearing black sandals and a cyan shirt. Ethan could not keep his eyes out her, but the illusion broke once the girl talked to him. -I’m here, let get this over. – Clair said in her usual tone. -Oh, hi Clair.- Ethan sounded somehow disappointed. They walk around the park without talking much, Ethan was nervous that whatever he said could piss her off, but Clair was not into her domain now. The serious, defiant trainer was gone with her usual attire. After a while, they slowly started to talk. They started of course with the one thing they had in common, Pokémon battles. That was a great way to break the ice, and after a while, they switched to other themes too. Ethan saw Claire under a different Lenz now. She looked surprisingly cute, without the cape and long boots she always wears. He also noticed that she had a nice pair of legs, Ethan try to look at them without getting caught by Clair. On one of those peeks, he also took notice of her cute feet. He never saw her feet before, since Clair was focused only on battles, she never posed at magazines like Whitney, who often appears modeling swimsuits. There is also Jasmine, who wears sandals all the time and was often saw on the beach walking barefoot. But of the three, Ethan thought that Clair’s feet were the cutest.Clair never took real care of her feet, but since they were always on her boots, they were very soft. They keep walking until she noticed that Ethan looked down at her feet several times. -You like my nail polish? I never put it on this but… since it was a date…- Clair looked away at her shyness, and Ethan hearth stops. She waited for him on a bench, trying to put her thoughts together. -This mood is, strange. I mean, it is not bad… - Clair then remembered that Ethan was looking at her feet, she wonders if she polishes her nails the right way, it was the first time she did that after all. In fact, the clothes she was wearing were all new, including her sandals. Her feet were hurting a bit, they were not used to wear anything other than her comfy boots. Ethan came back with two ice creams and sits next to Clair. They resumed their talk, and after some time they were up walking again. After a while Ethan noticed that Clair was slowing down their walking and worried he asked her if there is everything alright. -I’m fine do not worry, my feet are a bit sore that is all. – Clair gave him a smile, trying to hide the fact that her feet were really hurting now. -You know, there is a place that we can visit if you want. It is like a secret place in the park, you can only access it from a certain part of the fence. We can rest there for a bit. -Yeah, that sounds nice. They walked to the place and pass through a certain part of the fence that can be opened. After some minutes they arrived, it was a space surrounded by trees, with a big one in the center. -This is where I came when I want to run away from everything. My furret discovered one day and since then I came here once in a while. Ever since I became the champion, I’m always accepting challenges and interviews. It is quite stressful. -I never thought about that, I always believe that it only means being the stronger trainer…- Clair felt bad with herself, after all, she wanted to fight him without even listening to why he did not want to. -But this is the first time I came here with a cute girl.- Ethan smiled, without noticing that he just called her cute, until it was too late. -W-well, I feel honored then. – Clair decided to just take the compliment but was too embarrassed to respond to it. -So let’s sit here for a while until you feel better at least. -Talking about that… would you mind taking my sandals off? I suppose people just get to know my ferocious side. – Clair remembers the first time they met and the bad impression that she probably gave him. He was a nice guy, after all there it was rubbing her feet to make her feel better. -Here, let me take the other foot. Clair obeys and gave him her left foot, putting the other one on his lap. He put her left sandal on, but before getting the right one ready, he gently kisses the top of the foot. -What are you doing? .- Clair sounded like an embarrassed teenager. -Sorry, I do not know but I just felt like doing it, please forgive me. – Ethan thought that he finally did the one thing that would piss her off and prepared for the worst. But on his disbelieve, Clair was not mad at all. -It is okay, it kind of felt good. Let’s get this over for the day, is already too late for our battle. -Sorry, I did not keep track of the time… -But… -But what? -Maybe… we can have another date… and if you want to keep doing what you just did… I would not mind…at all. -Are you serious? .- Ethan was shocked to saw that adorable shy expression on her face. -How could I joke about something like this!? And I still have to kick your butt, so prepare yourself.- Clair tried to go back to his usual self, but it was already late for that. -Hahaha sure. Let’s get back. Claire called his dragonair to fly back to blackthorn city, but before leaving she kissed Ethan's cheek and said that she was looking forward to their next date. Ethan just could say goodbye to her, before sitting back under the tree to process all the experience from the day....
