Fomapan 100 is a slow and very unforgiving black-and-white film that has a somewhat unique timeless look when shot right. 100 ISO isn't as versatile as you might think, lending itself to either sunny days or long exposures. I usually shoot it at EI 100 and develop it in R09 1:50 and I'm using it in a 35mm camera. However, I've been thinking for a long time wether I should use Fomapan 100 at 80, or stick to the 200 at 100. The EI would be practically the same, however, the granularity of Fomapan 100 is slightly lower and its tonality might be even better.
Again from my experience, Fomapan 100 prroduces low contrast negatives in normal lighting conditions. Some of my Fomapan 100 photos are higher contrast due to developing or lighting used. 120 Fomapan 100 - My most used film! Fomapan 100 film is my current favourite / best value for money black and white film in 120 format.
In 120, I like fomapan 100 but fomapan 200 seems to be the more popular film choice. From what I gather, fomapan 200 has a hybrid tabular grain structure. Between the two would I expect fomapan 200 to look similar to fomapan 100 but with slightly more grain and slightly less contrast? Which do you prefer and why?

I got some sheets of 100 speed Fomapan to try out. I normally develop in D76. Does anyone have some starting points for times and dilutions for developing fomapan 100 in D76?
Foma's data sheets for Fomapan 100 Classic, 200 Creative and 400 Action all cite good latitude, with a stated range of +1 EV (over-exposed up to 1 stop) to -2 EV (under-exposed up to 2 stops) with no adjustments to processing times.
Amazon recently offered 36-exposure rolls of 35mm Fomapan 100 for about $3.50, so I bought several while the price lasted. And it's generally understood that Freestyle Photo's Arista.EDU Ultra 100 is Fomapan 100, and as of spring 2016 Freestyle consistently offers 24-exposure rolls for $3.19.

When it comes to black and white photography, I don't have tons of experience. I usually stick to the known and trusted Ilford brand. So when I saw Lomography Magazine was looking for reviews on the Fomapan 100 120 film, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try a new film. I ordered some rolls, tried them out in the wild, and came back here to share my impressions with you.
I think Fomapan 100 is commonly "approved" film but then there are these two 200 and 400 which are breed of their own. Foma 100 works like it should and it has a bit that nice old film vibe.
