Florida Travel Tips

Best tip to travel and enjoy the locations.

If you're at the beginning of your Florida travel plans and still not sure where to start, here's a complete list of all the decisions you have to make when planning a trip to Florida.

7 days Florida itinerary

If you only have a week to travel around Florida and it's your first time in the state, you can either do the traditional Miami and Orlando combo, or dedicate a whole week to Orlando and do a park marathon. Here are these two options structured in days:

7-Day Miami and Orlando Itinerary:

It doesn't matter if you start in Orlando or Miami, what really makes a difference is avoiding weekends at the parks.

Let me explain, regardless of the month of the year, Orlando parks are full on weekends, Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the busiest days and if you manage to avoid them you will enjoy your visit MUCH more. So, my 7-day Florida itinerary would spend Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Miami and Monday through Thursday in Orlando.

Travel itinerary

Plan your trip to Florida. Regardless of how many cities you are going to visit, in each of them you must prepare a travel itinerary. You don't need to plan every minute of your trip, you need to consult the time in Florida to be updated on the services of the trade and on the main cities in Florida and what you cannot miss in each of them.

Planning a trip to Florida allows you to make the most of your time and save money. All tickets, tourist passes, transfers and reservations you can and MUST make online. That way, you have the possibility to compare prices and services.

Tours and attractions offered at the location of the trip tend to be much more expensive and some tours always sell out weeks in advance.

How long will your trip to Florida take?

Many readers ask me how much time they should spend during a Florida trip, my answer is always the same: it depends on the type of trip you would like. If you want to visit several cities, I would say count by city. I always recommend at least three full days in each city. A time shorter than three full days can be a waste of time & money. A very short time in the city does not allow you to enjoy the main attractions if you want and you still make the trip much more expensive with many routes by car or plane between the chosen destinations.
