Hey everyone! I’m excited to share something I’ve been working on for a while now—Float. The idea is simple but powerful: take your life—your past, your present habits and vices, your positive and negative future—and feed it into an AI. By giving the AI this deep context, it can help you make sense of who you are and guide you towards who you want to be.

Life Authoring: Your Story, Written by You

Float is built around the concept of self-authoring as popularized by Dr. Jordan Peterson. It’s split into three parts:

  • Past Authoring: Write the story of your past—key events, relationships, moments that shaped who you are today.
  • Present Authoring: Take stock of your current habits, good and bad. What are you doing well? What’s holding you back?
  • Future Authoring: Imagine two versions of your future—the positive path where you achieve your goals and the negative one where you don’t make changes. This dual view helps you see the impact of your decisions.

All of this self-authored content is then fed into the AI, which uses it to give you personalized advice, suggestions, or even a custom therapy plan. Instead of generic tips, you’re getting insights based on your unique life story.

At the heart of Float is an AI Therapist that goes beyond just giving general advice—it creates a personalized plan based on your unique life story. By analyzing your past, present, and future authoring, the AI gains deep insight into your life context. From there, it generates a custom therapy or self-growth plan tailored specifically to your needs.

The AI doesn’t just throw random advice at you. It helps you:

  • Identify core issues rooted in your past.
  • Understand your current habits and their impact on your progress.
  • Visualize potential futures and develop actionable steps to reach your positive outcome.

You can select which particular issue you want to talk about and also create new life authoring entries about other parts of your life to create new therapy plans.

Life Map: Visualizing Your Journey

One of the coolest features of Float is the Life Map. After you input your life story, the AI creates a visual diagram that shows the events, patterns, and key choices of your life. It helps you understand:

  • The patterns of your actions and how they’ve impacted you.
  • Where you are currently in your life journey.
  • How your future could unfold—both the positive and negative branches.

Seeing your life laid out visually makes it easier to grasp how everything connects and what you might want to change moving forward.

Dream Journal: Explore Your Subconscious

I’ve always been fascinated by dreams, so I added a Dream Journal feature. You can log your dreams and let the AI help you interpret them. Whether or not you believe in dream interpretation, it’s a fun and interesting way to tap into your subconscious and maybe learn something new about yourself.

Your Data is Safe with Float

I take security seriously. All the data you enter into Float is encrypted, and the encryption key is securely stored on Telegram’s own servers. If you want to verify that your data is encrypted, you can open the app on your desktop and inspect the console to see how it all works.
