🎬📺 FlixQuest FAQs
FlixQuest developer
Q: How does the app work?
A: The app works by searching through sites and extracting video links on-demand. Like you copy content from Wikipedia whenever an assignment is given to you the app also does the same thing :)
Q: Why does some movies and TV shows show up when I search them but couldn't find a stream for them?
A: The app uses two systems to work. The movie/show info and metadata you see is independent of the streaming part. So finding the movie/show info or metadata doesn't guarantee whether you'll find a stream or not.
And some movies/shows may not be released yet so you won't find them.
Q: App says "The movie/episode couldn't be found on our servers".
A: This happens if the movie/episode (referred as 'media' from now on) is unavailable on FlixHQ (one of our providers). Also as of app version v2.5.0 since multiple other sources are added to the app, the app will try to search all sources for the media you requested. Then if the media is not found in any sources, you'll see the "The movie/episode couldn't be found on our servers" error, and nothing can be done about that.
Q: App says "This movie/TV episode couldn't be loaded because the server is down..."
A: This happens when either FlixHQ is down or the server we created to fetch from FlixHQ is down, users see this message if their app version is < 2.5.0, on the newer version since there are multiple sources/providers, the app will just ignore it if one source is down and will continue to fetch the next.
Q: App takes long to load a media.
A: This might happen because of multiple reasons:
- Your internet connection might be slow.
- You might have selected "Any" as a subtitle in Settings>Player settings>Subtitle language, this tries to load all subtitles that a media has and it'll take time to do that. A good practice would be to select a specific language.
- The media could be found on the 6th provider rather than the first. The app searches for providers one by one and quits searching if a media video is found, so if a media video is found on the first provider the process will be faster and it'll be slow if it searches until the last provider.
- Server outage from our (FlixQuest) side. This happens when the server is loaded with too many users, this is a rare case but it happens.
- The providers are having an outage or down. If the providers are having a problem the app will try that specific provider 2 times and will proceed to try other providers, this will also take time.
Q: The wrong media is playing
A: This happens because of a source problem, switch providers and try again.
Q: How to change subtitle language?
A: Go to Settings>Player Settings>Subtitle language and choose the language you want.
Q: How to change the audio to another language? Does the app offer dubbing?
A: Not offered by the app. Only original languages and subtitles in different languages are available.
Q: Video player is lagging
A: There are also a couple of reasons why this might happen:
- Your mobile/device is on "Battery saving mode". This will limit your resources like RAM and CPU for the application to properly show you the video, try turning it off.
- You are trying to use the app on a lower spec phone. For example if you're trying to stream media on 1080p resolution while having a phone with 1GB of RAM will cause the video player to lag.
3. Problem with the video file itself. Some videos might have a bad encoding and might lag regardless of problem with your device, try changing providers for this one.
Q: "Video can't be played"
A: This happens if your connection is too slow that the app can't load or continue to play the video, or while Live TV streaming, if the channels are not working you will see this error. Click "Retry" to try again
