I bought the leash a few wks ago and just used it once so far. The leash came with a string with a loop at each end. It's driving us crazy that we dont know what its for. Please let us know.
In addition to the handle, you can also hold the hand loop with your other hand for extra control.
The X-Small leash weighs approximately 3.5-ounces, the Small 16-foot leash weighs approximately 5.6-ounces, the Small 26-foot leash weighs approximately 7.8-ounces, the Medium 16-foot leash weighs approximately 7.8-ounces and the Medium 26-foot leash weighs approximately 12.3-ounces.
This question is about the length of the leashes, looking at the 10 ft one , is that the true length of the cord or does that include the handle in the length? Thank you

Inspect Your Leash & Collar Before Each Use
Make sure that all parts of the leash and your dog's collar are in good condition and are not damaged, frayed, or broken.
Attaching the Leash & Safety Collar
Make sure your dog is under control. Fully retract the leash before detaching it.
If your leash gets wet, pull the cord/tape/belt out of the leash housing as far as it will go and lock the brake. Leave it to dry overnight in a place that is out of reach of children. When the cord/tape/belt is dry, carefully and slowly retract the leash to keep it under control.
Always hold the leash by the handle, never by the cord/tape/belt You can also hold the hand loop with your other hand for extra control. Never tie leash around a tree, pole, or any other object.
To bring your dog nearer, follow these steps and never touch the cord/tape/belt:

I have ordered this leash many times in size small - cord length 16 ft. Last order was in 2019. I ordered the extra small with a cord length of 10ft. Thinking a shorter cord length would be good for my Rosie who "loves" squirrels. When I received the extra small leash I didn't realize that the handle - where you put your hand into - is much smaller. Just an fyi.

I bought my second one when the first gave out after five years of twice daily, five-mile walks. Was reliable through punishing wear and dog chases after deer and other wildlife. I much prefer the cord over the tape which can get twisted and unretractable. No such problems with the cord. Highly recommend the Flexi leash!
I bought this to replace my Flexi Tape Retractable leash. My tape leash is only 1.5 yrs old but the tape start to fray and just wouldn't retract anymore.

The only problem that I have this cord leash is the spring is not very tight so it almost feels like the cord won't retract or have problems retracting. This is my 3rd Flexi leash so to me it's a reliable brand.
This a great leash that comes with a strong cord and not a tape. Very well made look forward to many years of use.
Very happy with our purchase. This was a replacement leash. We purchased the same leash. The previous leash lasted about 5 years. Our dog goes out multiple times a day and has at least 2-3 walks a day. She is only 8 lbs. Went for the same leash we had before because it held up well.

I have used Chewy since it started. the associates are extremely helpful and make ordering a 'breeze'. My SHIBA is almost thirteen years and is on a special diet that Chewy orders from y vet. Recently; I needed a new Flexi lead and was having trouble deciding on the size. the associate was great and sent me the 'perfect one'. years ago; Chewy sent me a small painting of my Do that I having hanging on the wall. Love the easiness of the control of the lock. I love that I can control how close my girl should walk next to me or how far I’m willing to let her run. The leash is the perfect length and is easy for me to hold on to!

What is the warranty period? Purchased under a year ago and the leash ripped today.
After I disposed of the packaging, along with the leash I noticed a small black strap with little metal hoops on the ends. Any idea what this is for?
This strap with the loops is the Flexi safety collar. To use, loop around your pets neck and clip both rings along with your dogs collar d-ring to the snap hook for added security while walking your dog.
My dog chews through leashes quickly. Is it chew proof?
This leash is made of Nylon and is not designed to withstand chewing.
Is this leash okay to use with a harness?
The Flexi leash can be attached to the D-ring of your dog's collar or harness.

This thing is really heavy duty. It's on the heavy side if you have to hold it for long periods of time and the handle could have a better grip, but it's the only one I'll trust for a big dog. Walked my dog on street and hiking, no problem. Yesterday went to the beach and passed the last test. My dog loves to chase seabirds and had the leash extended at full length several times running at full speed with no glitch. I was afraid all the sand will mess the internal mechanism but when I got home I hose it down pretty well and is now working like new. Only time will tell how long will last.
We have used a Flexi Giant dog leash for our American Bulldogs for years. If you know how to properly use a retractable leash Flexi makes a good one. I understand why they went to a yellow nylon tape but it takes some getting use to.
As always Chewy is the best.
Only used a handful of times and the tape broke! Tape broke just above the plastic connector that attaches the clasp to the tape.
This item is a replacement for an identical leash that finally broke - after 11 years of daily heavy wear.
It is expensive but it is ever so functional with a 210 pound Anatolian. It doesnt tangle and the roll-back mechanism never failed us once.

I just started using this i have had other flexi leashes and were happy with them. However, this one was so poorly manufactured the locking mechanism failed and the recoil spring bunched up within the leash and I almost lost MY DOG OFFF A HILLSIDE double check yours before you use it I just bought this darn thing but its mangled and worthless now got my dog
I wasn’t sure I’d like the leash color or that it would be strong enough for our exuberant & highly energized 14 month Bernese Mountain Dog. I have grown to like the color - like that it’s highly visible and so far leash is definitely strong enough to control our bounding boy. I would recommend this product.
Love the leash, every time my 95lb dog see's a critter its a quick launch and triple helicopter on the button push. Had my original XL giant for 6 years and the rubber boot on the end cracked. Bought a second thinking I could get the first fixed. NOT !. Provide phone is a joke because it states just email info@flexi-northamerica.com. Then you email them and get a message that email server is down for weeks.
We purchased 2 of these leashes, one for our high energy boxer and one for our very high energy Labrador puppy, and they have held up. very well to their strength and wildness on walk. The leash, completely retracted is a bit heavy, just an FYI, but nothing that I would complain about.
I'm not exaggerating. I feel now like I wasted years being frustrated that nothing worked. I never thought that anything would ever help to get her to stop pulling. I cannot express how grateful I am for this product.
Like this and wanted a second for our new pup but it went from 19.99 to 59.99. That’s a big jump.
