The thing looks like a flight simulator...and we're here for it.
"We’re living in a golden age of sex toys.”
That's what Dr. Ian Kerner, psychotherapist, sexuality counselor, and author of She Comes First , had to say about the Quickshot Launch—Fleshlight’s newest and most ambitious product that fuses robotics and masturbation.
You've probably heard of the Fleshlight, the sex industry’s most infamous pun. Since CEO Steve Shubin created the company in 1995 , the patented Superskin™ vaginal molds became the world’s best-selling male toys. Fleshlight has again released a new product, and with it we are rocketed to the space-age of self-pleasure. Enter: The Quickshot Launch.
If you’re familiar with Fleshlight’s catalogue, the name actually explains it all. The Quickshot is an older Fleshlight product—egg shaped, open on either end, and small enough to fit in a hand. Now, users can mount the Quickshot inside the “Launch,” a sleek, black machine that lets the Quickshot pump up and down on its own. (Note: A Fleshlight representative said the product is currently sold out, but i'll be back up on the company's website soon.)
Holding the Launch over his groin, the user puts his member inside the Quickshot, and uses two handles at the base control the Quickshot’s speed (up to 250 strokes/minute) and focus (base, shaft, tip). An adjustable, universal smartphone mount at the top allows users to simultaneously watch their favorite video.
The Quickshot Launch isn’t the first high-tech Fleshlight product on the market, but it is the most elaborate. As to its pioneering power, there may be some kinks to work out. (Inexplicably, there is no roof on the Launch to prevent the user's, um, relief , from shooting out the top.)
To be frank, it looks like a flight simulator. Fleshlight hasn’t shied away from this comparison, if this video is any indication:
The ad is decidedly unsexy, but that’s not the point. It embraces a futuristic approach to modern pleasure. When technology is woven into the fabric of daily life, it’s no surprise that more and more, we find it a part of sex. And that opens up a whole new world of possibilities; as Kerner pointed out, the Quickshot Launch "uses pressure and friction in ways we’re not accustomed to seeing."
As the male toy market continues to advance, some worry that it’s marching to an unseemly beat. In Julie Beck’s brilliant Atlantic piece on sex dolls, Dr. Marquard Smith, author of The Erotic Doll , says that dolls can have “social and psychological consequences for men who want to develop these intimate and erotic relationships with an inanimate human form.” It’s not a leap to be concerned that some men will attempt to replace romance with robotics.
When taken to an extreme, the future looks lonely: men sitting in their basements all day with VR sets, dolls, and Quickshot Launches that whir away, ignoring intimacy for pleasure that’s no longer in the palm of the hand but at the push of a button.
The newness of the Quickshot Launch’s design may be the cause of knee-jerk reactions and ideas of a sexual dystopia. Skeptics wonder if a correlation exists between more mechanical sex toys and isolation, or dehumanization tied to sex. But are these fears grounded in reality?
"I wouldn’t worry so much about a sex toy being dangerous to human sexuality."
Dr. Carol Queen, author and staff sexologist at Good Vibrations , a San Francisco-based sex store that promotes education and positivity, isn’t too concerned. Pushback to male toys often “assumes that we're supposed to express all sexual energy in connection with another person,” she said. While it’s possible to avoid human connection, those who still seek human intimacy won’t find their desires numbed by toys.
Fear of the Quickshot Launch and other high-tech male toys is simply a fear of the unknown. Women’s sexuality, after all, terrified the United States and was completely repressed until not-so-long ago. Today, “women have access to a discourse that thinks about toy use as positive claiming of one's own sexuality,” Queen says. “Hetero men don't have that shared way of communicating.” This lack of communication is a part of the stigma surrounding men’s sex toys.
There isn’t much space to talk about products like the Quickshot Launch, cock rings, and prostate stimulators. Many men see their sexuality “best contextualized [as] having sex with another person,” Queen says . “This in turn is associated with the idea that sex in general is supposed to be partner-based.”
But toy-positivity can lead to great rewards! A 2018 TENGA Global Self-Pleasure Report of 13,000 respondents found that while only 53% of Americans think sex toys are useful for men, 80% of men who have used sex toys say that “they are useful for improving their masturbation experience.”
It’s possible that some men will use the Quickshot Launch to escape deep-seated issues, but in those cases, it isn't the toy that's the issue. “I wouldn’t worry so much about a sex toy being dangerous to human sexuality,” Kerner says. “But I would look to someone who’s escaping into masturbation, and what’s happening with themselves in the real world.”
For men who have trouble performing, Kerner said the Quickshot Launch “might help them solve a sexual problem.” It can “help replicate a different kind of tactile experience or a level of unpredictability,” he added.
A more normalized toy culture would allow men to better perform with partners and feel confident in their healthy desires. If the Quickshot Launch is able to provide pleasure, and foster a more positive environment for solo play or in consensual sex, it’s hard to find realistic reason for opposition.

Have you always wanted to have sex with a futuristic ice bucket? There's a brand new smart sex toy for you.
The Fleshlight Launch is billed as a “fully automated male masturbator" and is designed for use with your favorite Fleshlight. Not to be confused with the LaunchPAD iPad case, this new standalone device was unveiled at SXSW on Saturday.
Basically you put the Fleshlight of your choice into The Launch. In manual mode, you can use its touch controls to adjust the speed, length and position of your stroke. In interactive mode, you sync The Launch to your computer or mobile via Bluetooth and opt for it to perform whatever kind of adult content floats your boat -- you can even have a VR experience.
Before you get too, um, excited at this prospect, it's worth noticing what a massive and clunky setup this is. It’s a foot tall and six inches wide! (No word on how much it weighs.) It also costs $200.
Sure, it has a very sleek design, but it really looks more like something a wine enthusiast would use to chill a bottle of their finest Sauvignon blanc than something you’d want to f*ck.
Certainly throughout history men have stuck their members into far weirder things, but it remains to be seen if the horny masses will fork over hundreds of dollars for this unwieldy contraption.

Looking for the best Fleshlight around? You've come to the right place. Whether you're new to sex toys and looking for something to get started with, or are here in search of new sensations, our guide has something that'll fit the bill.
Assuming you haven't landed here accidentally looking for a torch , you'll probably already know the kind of thing we're talking about here. But for the avoidance of doubt, a Fleshlight refers to a penetrative sex toy designed to be used on a penis. It's a brand name, but, like Hoover and Sellotape, one that has come to represent all toys of that ilk. And it's widely considered to be one of the very best sex toys for men .
Sometimes they're anatomical looking, sometimes they're not. Sometimes they resemble a flashlight (in which case you'd better hope the wrong person doesn't happen upon it in a powercut) sometimes they're something absolutely unique. There's no right or wrong in the Fleshlight world – just what feels best. For more explanation, jump down to the ' What kinds of Fleshlights are there? ' section.
Most people don't stop at one. There are plenty of ways to use a Fleshlight , whether it's to improve staying power, pleasure a partner, or just get yourself off, it's really up to you. Just make sure you heed our guidelines on how to clean a Fleshlight (yes, every time). With the majority of the big names in sex toys making their own unique versions (and unique is definitely the key word in Tenga's case) toys are getting better all the time. There's no better time to get involved. But let's consider a few of your options first. Here's our pick of the best Fleshlights (and Fleshlight alternatives) around right now
Our top pick for the best Fleshlight is a top-seller and for good reason. The company has taken its original model and refined every aspect to bring you the Flight: Pilot. You've still got the super-discrete outer, the feel of the inner is softer than before, with a uniquely textured canal that promises oodles of pleasure. Clear material and a non-anatomical opening means this is more the stuff of your fantasies than a replication of anything real – it's suitable for anyone with a penis, whatever their tastes. It's waterproof, and there's plenty of room for experimentation, with a twist base to alter the level of suction as you play.
What do the reviews say?
Reviews on the Lovehoney website are overwhelmingly positive, with an average of 4.4 stars over 500 reviews at time of writing. This Fleshlight scores especially high on Ease of Use and Quality, with customers typically giving this toy a full five stars on those fronts.
Of the complaints levelled at this toy, a few reviewers found it was a faff to clean and dry (a common issue with this style of toy, just due to the shape it needs to be), and that the sleeve attracted hair. Some flagged that the cap rattled a bit, and that the outer lacked grip. Although a few reviewers didn't get on with the internal feel of the toy, there were no complaints that cropped up enough to suggest a general problem rather than just a variety of personal preferences.
To be fair, the Ice Lady and Ice Lady Crystal aren't the only options in Fleshlight's see-through Ice range – you can also pick up the Ice Butt, the Flight Aviator, the Go Torque and Quickshots Vantage and Pulse in transparent finishes – but we've selected the Ice Lady specifically on the basis of its inner orifice, which many users swear by. It's not a small thing at 8.54" insertable length, but there are a ton of different textures inside.
The visual advantage of its see-through material cannot be understated; seeing what's going where might not have the same appeal if you're on your own (or it might, who knows) but with a partner it'll be a treat. Some prefer the slightly different texture of Fleshlight's clear SuperSkin, too, and, well, we'd have to say it looks perhaps a little less explicit than Fleshlight's flesh-coloured options. While you're unlikely to be marching around the house Ice Lady in hand, that might be an advantage in certain circumstances.
On Lovehoney, the Ice Lady Crystal has an average of 4.6 stars out of 5, over 100 reviews at time of writing. It scores especially highly on Orgasm rating, Ease of Use and Quality, for which most reviewers awarded this fleshlight full marks. Any notable complaints? The lid can be difficult to remove, and cleaning (or more specifically, getting it properly dry) can be tricky. Lots of people called out how satisfying the interior feel is, and how effective it is as a toy.
Though it looks something like a futuristic knuckleduster, this five-knuckle shuffler is far kinder to the flesh. The idea is probably rather obvious: you slide your fingers into the holes in its grip, apply a generous amount of lube, and go to town. The great benefit over more traditional Fleshlight products is that there's no outer case, so while there's no suction on offer it's squeezable for a change in pressure as you go - and those finger holes, sitting comfortably at your knuckles, invite easy twisting and turning motions too.
It's relatively short and open ended, so when used by (or on) a partner there's room for a little oral play at the exit, and the textures inside, a mix of ribs and nodules with typical Fleshlight intensity, give plenty of options for variety as you go. There's a custom case to keep it safe if you're travelling, and also in which to store it while it dries – as ever, a little time under the tap is all it really takes, and the open end means nothing nasty should get trapped.
The main complaints about this toy are the lack of suction (in which case you'd be better opting for a traditional, closed Fleshlight), and a few users also found it too soft to create satisfying pressure. There's plenty of love for the innovative drying case though!
OK, not a Fleshlight in its own right, but if you're into Fleshlights then the Launch really needs to be on your radar. It's a battery-powered motorised add-on which takes Fleshlight's Quickshot toys (see below) to the next dimension, automating the stroking action up to 250 times per minute while keeping the stroke length, position and speed entirely in your control via a pair of thumbsticks on the handles.
Sounds a little terrifying, but it's not as if you're strapping yourself into something you can't stop immediately if you're uncomfortable. There's even a phone holder, so you can enjoy your favourite illicit materials while keeping your hands on the controls at all times.
Some more sensitive users find the textured canals of typical Fleshlights a little too much. But not everything has to be lumpy, bumpy, and covered in all kinds of geometric shapes – the Pink Lady and Pink Butt, the Fleshlights that started it all, keep it smooth inside. They're not exactly baggy; most men will find a reasonably tight canal (and, on the Pink Butt, a suitably small opening) gives all parts of the penis plenty to experience on the way in, but the soft material means you won't be fighting to enter, and there's a pressure relief valve on the rear with which to find a balance of suction and slide.
The only real downside, if you can call it that, is the length – we'd wager most would be unable to reach all the way to the end, and if you're likely to hide it away you may wish to opt for one of Fleshlight's more compact models.
Deviating from the standard form factor, Fleshlight's Quickshot is an open-ended devic
