Flashing Guide - Clean/Dirty Flash
@spesmynutsBefore we begin:
- Always backup your data
- Use OrangeFox only as we're in Android 15 - 16
- ROM demonstrated here is Project Matrixx v11.5.0, but this works for Every ROM.
README:
- Since now we use EroFS, users who's going to clean flash MUST REBOOT TO THE RECOVERY NEXT & FORMAT their device AFTER you're done flashing the ROM, this is because certain issues like not being able to open a file in Telegram is a problem.
- Users who's wanting to flash any GAPPS (eg. NikGapps), flash this first before flashing the GApps you wanted.
Clean Flashing with PC
- Reboot your phone to fastboot first
On your PC: Download THIS recovery and open Command Prompt or Powershell and cd to platform-tools to do the following:
- fastboot devices && fastboot boot path/to/recovery.img
- If you can't see your device in the fastboot devices list, you might need to install ADB Drivers first
- The && in the command means execute fastboot boot next.
3. Once your phone boots into recovery, click on Wipe (3rd button) on the bottom of the screen then click on Format Data and type in yes.
- Formatting your Data means LOSING ALL OF YOUR DATA INSIDE THE INTERNAL STORAGE! Make sure your data is BACKED UP somewhere for example: Google Drive, OneDrive, Local Machine (in Laptop or PC) or DataBackup
4. Next is go to Menu (4th button) on the bottom of the screen, click on ADB Sideload and start the sideload and do the following in the terminal:
adb sideload path/to/matrixx*.zip
- Wiping Dalvik Cache & Cache is optional
- Wait for within 3-5 minutes until it reaches 47% & stops by itself and Voila! you can now reboot & Enjoy your brand new Custom ROM!
Clean Flashing with SD Card:
- Reboot your phone into OrangeFox recovery (if you have it flashed already in your current device)
- Click on Wipe (3rd button) on the bottom of the list then click on Format Data and type in yes.
- Formatting your Data means LOSING ALL OF YOUR DATA INSIDE THE INTERNAL STORAGE! Make sure your data is BACKED UP somewhere for example: Google Drive, OneDrive, Local Machine (in Laptop or PC) or DataBackup
3. Go to Files (1st button) on the bottom of the list, and click on your Internal Storage above to select the SD Card.
4. Next, find your ROM inside the SD Card directory and wait for the flashing process to be finished until you're allowed to reboot!
- Flashing current OrangeFox is optional but it is recommended as you'll be using this for Android 15-16.
Dirty Flashing with PC / SD Card
- After the dirty flash your root/kernel will be overwritten. So, take a backup of your favourite kernel.
- Reboot your Phone in recovery
- For PC: Enable ADB Sideload via the Custom ROM's Recovery or OrangeFox (can be followed in the Clean Flash guide above)
- For SD Card: Find the ROM in the SD Card directory
- OrangeFox users: Flashing current OrangeFox is optional but it is recommended as you'll be using this for Android 15-16.
4. You don't have to wipe your data, instead, you sideload the ROM and reboot once it's completed
- This method is only for users who are currently using the developer's ROM. Doing this method while flashing from AlphaDroid as an EXAMPLE can cause your device to bootloop instead.
