An ode to everlasting romance, a tribute to gorgeous architecture, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the occasional centre of a political slugfest, ladies and gentleman, meet the Taj Mahal. It’s one of India’s most visited places and the one thing everybody does is to get a snap with the monument in the background. Even Will and Kate, the royal couple couldn’t resist a snap.

India has way too many religions. It’s the birthplace of quite a few and some migrated here. Each different from one another. However, there’s one religion that unites India, that’s Cricket. The sport which traces its origins to England has become India's unofficial national sport. To catch a cricket game live at a stadium is where you literally see India’s rich diversity and penchant for noise and passion. If you’re in a city where India is playing, don’t you dare miss it!

3.   Do some Yoga.

Yoga

Of course! How can yoga be not in a list of quintessential Indian things to do? You can be near the snow-capped Himalayas in the North or at Marina beach in Chennai, South India; you will find a yoga retreat. One of India’s gifts to the world, it’s a great way to become one with your mind, body, and soul. And with the government promoting Yoga by establishing a separate ministry to it (Ministry of Ayush); it’s never been a better time to learn yoga.

4.   Fall in love with Bollywood.

Romance with King Khan or marvel at Amitabh’s baritone, fall in awe at Priyanka’s acting prowess or be spellbound at Deepika’s stunning performances, Bollywood is India’s soul. The world’s biggest movie industry, every Friday, India heads to the cinema halls to forget its woes for a few hours. Nothing expresses India’s beat better than Bollywood.

5.   Go all out with Food.

Food

Every nation has its representative cuisine but how do you explain India’s cuisine. With every 50 miles offering a different cuisine, India’s culinary scene is perhaps the world’s tastiest and adventurous. You can have soft Idli and Dosas from the south, parathas and butter chicken from the north, tasty momos from the northeast, or fish and rice from the east; it’s still incomplete. The fact that most Indian’s are still discovering the nation’s varied cuisines is a sign about this land’s gorgeous diversity.

You don’t need to visit India, you need to experience it and what better way to do it with than to fly with India’s most loved airline, Jet Airways.
