The monastery also houses many beautiful statues and mural paintings showcase rich Buddhist art and culture.

Lamayuru Monastery

Also known as the Yuru Gompa, Lamayuru is also an important monastery located in the Kargil district in Western Ladakh. It is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Ladakh with the capacity to provide permanent residence over 450 monks. More than 150 monks are living inside this monastery.
