Fist Of Fury was Bruce Lee’s second martial arts film after he’d grown frustrated with his lack of success in Hollywood and returned to Hong Kong. It is hands down his best all around film. It has a strong story of Bruce as Chen Zhen seeking revenge for a Japanese Karate school killing his teacher and attacking his peers. That tied into a larger theme of Chinese nationalism. World War II had engendered deep hatred amongst the Chinese for what the Japanese did to their country during the conflict. Bruce tapped into that, which made it a huge success in Hong Kong. The action brought in fans in the U.S. where it was released as The Chinese Connection, and in Europe as well making Lee an international star just like he wanted to be. The play on Chinese nationalism is made as soon as the Japanese make their first appearance. The Karate school delivers a framed banner to Chen’s school calling China the “sick man of Asia.” This was a phrase originally used in the 1800s to discredit the Chinese monarchy as it was facing famine, corruption, and European, American and Japanese encroachments into its territory. Chinese knew this insult well so when Chen shows up at the Karate school, returns the banner and literally destroys all the students there it was going to have a big response in Hong Kong. The film would return to this issue other times like when Chen is refused entry to a park which says no dogs or Chinese were allowed in. Fist Of Fury features one of Lee’s best and most iconic fight scenes. That occurs when Chen pays his first visit to the Karate school and breaks out a pair of nunchucks. That is so important because millions of people around the world wanted chucks afterward. The movie also highlighted Bruce’s acting skills. Sometimes he’s burning with anger and is biting at the bit to get revenge like at the start when he returns for his teacher’s funeral. Other times he throws in a bit of comedy such as when he poses as a phone repair man to get intelligence on the Chinese school or pretends to be a rickshaw driver to lure in one of his victims. The only down time in the film is when he sees his girlfriend and things get melodramatic. Otherwise Fist of Fury is a martial arts classic hat stands hands above most of the other Hong Kong releases from this period. C

This Bruce Lee movie is clever and funny too more so than the other movies he made. He takes revenge against those who killed his world-famous master who beat the best. He is very funny when dresses in disguises to fool people like in Mission Impossible. In one scene pretends to be a phone repairman in a humble stereotype to fool the household into letting him in. Later he uses the old rickshaw trick to capture the bad guy who killed his master. This is a very sad but moving movie. Now you listen to just one thing, if you kill my master you know what I will do to you! WHAAAA!

💡When I was younger I didn't understand the story of oppression the Chinese people experienced.✅ 💡Bruce Lee films were inspirational to HIS PEOPLE first and foremost, and to others who could relate secondarily, and thirdly to people who just wanted to see a GREAT KUNG FU MOVIE with THE GREATEST KUNG FU ARTIST, LEGEND and PERFORMER OF ALL TIME!✅ 💡This, is one of those movies.✅

I mean, it's not a perfect film, but giving a Bruce Lee film anything less than 5 stars feels feels like sacrilege. A few landmark moments in action/ martial arts film history to look out for. - the overhead shot of Bruce taking off his shirt as an entire dojo of karateka circle around him, too afraid to engage. Absolutely classic shot. - Bruce Lee making the nunchaku and iconic weapon for martial arts film stars. - In the final fight scene, who's the stunt double for Suzuka's actor that Bruce sent flying through the door for 50 feet? You only see his back, but it was JACKIE CHAN!!! (confirmed by Jackie himself).

I remember the first time I saw this classic! I was 15 years old and it was the first movie I'd ever seen in theatres!! I remember every detail as if it were only yesterday! That's how powerful the impression that was left on me!! Bruce Lee's acting ability was only over shadowed by his Martial Arts skills. But in the scene where his fellow students were trying to convince him to leave, (though subtle), speaks volumes of his acting skills!!! This is a great story, ( although sadly rooted in truth), it has everything you'd want in an action movie!! He really changed the game when he popped on the scene, and his charisma jumps off the screen!!! This movie still stands the test of time and I'm happy that new generations are being influenced by this, Master of Martial Arts!!! After all these years he's still talked about, after all these years, he is still a legend!!! BRUCE LEE, AKA, "THE LITTLE DRAGON," FOREVER!!!

This is Bruce Lee in top form, his performance in this movie is incredible love the realness and the hardcore fight scenes. I liked all of Bruce Lee films even Game of Death mainly because of the scene with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar but this to me is his best.

So wait, first Fists of Fury while rotating around, then Spinning Kick for AoE damage to immobilised targets = WIN?
27, so dont have spinnning kick yet. But theoretically, it's possible, although you need to actually damage the mob to stun it so you can't turn too quickly. Also, stun is same duration as the channel time, so by the time you turn, first mob will probably be out of stun.
