My husband DJs on the side. He met a belly dancer at a recent wedding and I found this email between them. Would you be okay with this? He says he just has a flirtatious personality but I’ve told him several times I don’t like him sending messages...

I've been with my husband for 9 years. When we began dating he was open about his past of dating men and women. He claims to be bisexual. It didn't bother me at first until I started to really fall for him. His biggest fear was what women would think of his past when dating them. We got through our issues and still together with a baby.
It seems like society as a whole accepts woman to be bisexual and if a man has been with men he's gay.
As a woman, would you be able to date a man that has been with men in the past?
And, do you think it's more accepted for woman to explore same sex relationships than men?
I have dated a bisexual man and it did not bother me.
Yes it is more accepted for women to be bisexual, even celebrated sometimes (not to say they don't have issues of discrimination)
Yes, I could absolutely be with a bisexual man. I'm bisexual myself.
Yes, I think that society often stigmatises bisexuality in men, but often (by false means) glorifies it in women. It's an incredibly frustrating double standard.
Yes, I could date a man who has been with men. As a bisexual person, I actually really hate the way bisexuals are treated in the LGBT community. And men have it so much worse. It would not bother me, but you're right about the prevailing view in our culture.
Would I have dated a bisexual man? Nope.
And yes, it is more acceptable for women to be bi. It's one those things where no one looks twice when a guy walks around with his shirt but if it was a woman is be a problem.
I personally couldn't date a man that's been with other men. My best friend is going through this right now. She's really torn about it. I do think it's a double standard. When girls are with other girls it's no big deal but when it's guys it's different. Her boyfriends family is very religious and it wouldn't be acceptable for him to be gay with them. So there's always this inkling that maybe he's gay but won't come out because of his family. I think if he makes her happy and she can get past it then that's their business and would totally support her relationship. However I've had an uncle be gay but marry his college gf because he got her pregnant and back then you had to get married. They went on to have 4 children total. His wife knew all along. They divorced after the youngest graduated. I would just hate for her to go on to build a life and that end up happening for her. It'd crush her. She just questions if she's enough for him. She's not open to having a open relationship or having another man in the mix.
Yes, I would date or even marry a bisexual man.
Bisexual men and women are both equal in my eyes. I think of them no different than each other or anyone else.
I would have no issue with it. I do think society allows women more leeway in terms of bisexuality. When I was younger I dated a woman. I don't identify as bisexual.
I wouldn't be comfortable with my husband being with men in the past.
I don't see anything wrong with anybody's sexual orientation, if it works for you that's great. Personally I don't know if I could get serious with a man who is bisexual. Have sex? Most definitely! Casually date? Of course. Marry and have kids with? Maybe not. Again I don't see anything wrong with it, I've experimented with girlfriends in the past but I like men who strictly like women.
I'm married to a bisexual man. I'm a bisexual woman. We have been together for six years. I love our marriage! We don't have sex with other people. We get asked that quite often.

I wouldn’t mind that kinda of threesome one bit!

Would just like to watch a woman I’m with please and get pleased by another woman. I don’t need to touch or be touched by the other woman since I would already have a woman to fuck.
Exactly. I don’t want my wife fooling around with another man, and I’m perfectly fine not fooling around with another woman. It would make me sick to my stomach to see my wife with another man, but I’ve fantasized about her being with another woman, and I’m thrilled that we got to experience it. The hottest part was when the other woman straddled my wife’s face while I was eating my wife’s pussy. And of course, cumming on her face while the other woman watched was amazing.

For me, a FFM without giving both women equal attention is kind of boring.

My wife told me this story years ago. When she was a call girl in Vegas, a dwarf or Midget was a customer several times for her. Good paying and huge dick she said. On one occasion he had another call girl waiting when my wife entered the motel room.

He said, today I want you two to have sex in front of me while I am naked. Well they did and my wife almost fell in love. She has been bi and leaning more toward lesbian ever since. She is afraid to have a gay affair because she said there would be a chance she would leave me.

I said, "the door is always open and you have a free will. If you do, it was meant to be. Live your life freely my love."

well replace "other girl" with "other guy" and you get how I would feel. IMO this rings alarm bells, just coz it is a girl you seem to not really worry, I am sure you will be raging if it was a guy she is txting etc after kissing.

I think you need to talk to her about it, maybe she is bi or gay and if she is then there is nothing you can do about it, if you have a threesome make it clear that it is a one off and that it is not ok for your wife to go off and see this girl for sex etc without you. Unless of course, youre ok with that?

My GF is bi but she knows that if she goes off with another girl its the same as going off with another guy, the idea of dating a bi chick maybe hot coz of the ideas of threesomes etc but when you fall in love with them, you get a bit funny about it, at least I do; I would only ever agree to a threesome if we agreed to never see the extra girl again and didn't remain in contact.

If the OP is less jealous about a woman good on him, this is highly individual. I think I know where he's coming from - even if she's completely bi, a woman still can't "replace" him; the wife's relationship with her would always be an addition to her life, whereas another man is perceived as more of a direct threat. It's highly common in couples which are not completely monogamous that the woman is only allowed to hook up with other women but not with other men, it helps the guy deal with his anxieties and doesn't allow such a strong "macho" rivalry to build up. Usually it seems to work fine.

My concern is whether the girl's partner is aware, because I might be non-monogamous but I'm strictly against lying and cheating!!

^ Totally agree - I would never perceive a woman to be a direct threat, but more someone my woman could have as a side line if she wants a lil extra loving.

As long as I know about every instance of activity so I can have a wank while she tells me about it there's nothing wrong with it - it's hot.

For me - homosexuality is a lust thing, purely animal...a man will always come out on top unless he's a bitch.

well its a bit obvious how he feels, he even says so. he feels jealous.

my advice, coming from someone who used to be really jealous, but several years later is rather open in relationships (swinging included) is that what you should do is just talk to your wife. tell her how you feel an ask her about the things you want to know. jealousy is only there because you dont know how she feels about the other person. if she only feels like the girl/guy is a nice distraction (which she presumes you allowed into your life) then you have nothing to worry about.
most likely she is excited about her adventure and the initial curiosity, which you encouraged remember? you also let her know you wanted to bring the other girl home, though i imagine for your own pleasure more than hers.

really, just talk to her. she is your wife and hs been for a long time, better to ask her for advice than us internet folk

best of luck
