Fire penetration products are designed to seal gaps and voids formed by piping, cables, wall spaces and other services which penetrate compartment walls and floors, where flames and smoke could spread in the event of a fire.

We offer a comprehensive selection of products that have been specifically engineered to combat fire spreading – buying valuable time for occupants to escape and for fire services to arrive.

This can raise the overall fire safety standards of a building, and offer additional protection for those living and working there.

Find out how ROCKWOOL solutions can improve the long-term safety of your construction project or renovation.
Penetration seal solution with movement

Compounding against fire risk. Poorly protected service penetrations can put building at risk of fire spread. With the ROCKWOOL Firestop Compound product, be assured that the effective seal within fire rated walls and floors, offers the property critical fire stopping protection.

Filling the voids. Hidden gaps can leave buildings vulnerable to the spread of fire, particularly following the creation of voids for the passage of services. The ROCKWOOL Ablative Coated Batt provides an innovative air seal barrier to keep fire out, but sound and heat in.

FIREPRO® SpeedSeal is a red putty-based penetration sealing solution available in 60mm and 100mm diameter discs. It has been tested in service openings 25mm x 25mm and 50mm x 50mm to seal penetrating services.

At your service. Service openings in fire protected walls and floors must have adequate fire stopping measures in place to reduce the risk of fire spreading through a building. HS FireStop Compound provides a flexible solution for reinstating fire performance in service openings through fire protected walls and floors.

Padding out protection. Burnt out electrical socket boxes can act as a catalyst for fire passage and should be protected in all construction. ROCKWOOL Intumescent Putty Pads provide fire resistance for pre-existing socket boxes and openings in plasterboard walls. Using the latest technology, they are noise insulative too.

Even greater peace of mind. When insulating general building applications, ROCKWOOL stone wool slabs provide the best thermal, acoustic and fire protection. By using them in conjunction with ROCKWOOL’s purpose developed Ablative Liquid, construction ensures to deliver an additional fire stop boost to add extra peace of mind.

Versatility like no other. Service lines can often present a challenge when it comes to fire protection as they are often installed towards the end of a site programme and can compromise existing firestopping. The High Expansion Intumescent Sealant solves this problem. An easy to use solvent, this product is ideal for protecting both combustible and non-combustible pipes, among other permanent services.

Sealing the deal. Fire can penetrate even the smallest of gaps within a building. Don’t leave a property vulnerable to risk, but ensure that every area, no matter how small, is adequately protected. As part of ROCKWOOL’s FIREPRO® range of fire protection products, the Acoustic Intumescent Sealant has been designed to seal joints and service gaps in fire walls, partitions and more.

Wrapping and Rolling. ROCKWOOL Intumescent Pipe Wrap Roll has been designed as a more cost-effective solution to the Firestop Pipe Collars and Intumescent Pipe Wrap, trusted to protect plastic pipe systems and penetrations against fire.

The Firepro Pipe Collar CE is designed to provide protection to combustible pipes, reducing the risk of fire and smoke spread.

Fire penetration products perform a vital role in protecting buildings from fire and smoke spread.

Pipeworks, electricity cables and network lines keep buildings running every day. But both they, and the gaps around them, can be the perfect places for fumes and flames to pass through in the event of a fire.

This spread can happen in a matter of seconds. Not only does this put lives at risk, but it also minimises the time emergency services have available to arrive at the scene and provide help.

Installing robust fire resilient insulation and other specialised products is an effective way to help prevent this.

Any chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and ROCKWOOL solutions are designed to strengthen these weak points. By plugging gaps around cables and pipes, as well as through solid, partition and light construction walls, fire safety in constructions can be significantly improved.

To calculate how much of each product you’ll need, you can contact us directly. We can work with you to understand your construction and the unique needs of your building.

Once installed, effective insulation, seals and wraps can help create a safer working and living environment for occupants – and protect constructions against costly damage.

ROCKWOOL fire penetration products and accessories have undergone thorough fire resistance testing at accredited fire laboratories.

This ensures they are tested and proven to perform to the latest international standards, and creates solutions that offer:

Sluseholmen Karré K in Copenhagen, Denmark is a 168-flat apartment block. A high level of fire resilience for the building’s ventilation ducts was needed to ensure the safety of residents – and complement the appearance of the building.

ROCKWOOL Conlit fire boards were installed to boost the non-combustible properties of the building. These tight-fitting stone wool products help plug any haps where fire or smoke can spread if a fire breaks out.

Conlit products used throughout the ventilation ducts, and sealed using technical insulation tape, obscure joints and protect against the threat of fire to improve resident safety.

To ensure ROCKWOOL fire protection and fire stopping products are correctly installed, please consult the relevant installation guidelines for further information on handling, application and installation.

Passive fire protection is a critical component of any fire safety strategy. In the FIREPRO® Book you can find products for a range of specialist passive fire protection applications.

When fire penetration products are installed in walls or floors, pipe penetrations can be insulated with our pipe section range. The annular gaps/voids around the penetration seal are sealed using Acoustic Intumescent Sealant for an optimal solution. For floor constructions, dependent upon the annular gap/void, these can be sealed using Firestop Compound or Acoustic Intumescent Sealant.
Consult the FIREPRO Standard Details guide for specific information to suit the penetration type and application.
A through penetration is a gap that completely passes through a barrier such as a wall or floor. This means both sides need to be sealed.
Fire stopping is the process of preventing and slowing fire spread around penetrations of a construction, such as pipes or cables. This is achieved using fire resilient insulation and specialised products.
Fire protection solutions can help secure occupant safety and raise buildings’ fire resilience. Discover the benefits of ROCKWOOL insulation today

ROCKWOOL fire stopping products are designed to protect every joint, imperfection and opening that could otherwise potentially allow the passage of fire, smoke and hot gases.

HVAC insulation reduces energy loss for central heating systems, piping and ventilation ducts in large constructions.
