There seems to be a commonplace theme on OnlyFans these days. It’s known as “findom”. If you don’t know what it is, we’ll further explain it later on.
OnlyFans is a great way to make money online. But this phenomenon known as “findom” seems like the popular thing to do for a handful of content creators on the platform. If you are someone who is not into relationships that require a “sub” or a “dom” (if you know, you know), then this article is not for you.
We’ll dive into the definition of “findom” and how it works. We’ll also talk about how it’s incorporated on platforms like OnlyFans. With that said, let’s get started.
Findom is a shorthand word for “financial domination”. While the words themselves have different meanings, we’ll be looking at it from an angle where there may contain some sexual context. Specifically, we’ll be talking about the terms that are used in the BDSM community like dom and sub.
For those who may not be aware of these terms, let’s quickly definite them:
Dom: This is short for domination. This is a person who plays the “power role” in the dom/sub relationship. To make it a bit more self-explanatory, they are positioned as the authority or superior to the submissive in the relationship.
What they tell the sub in the relationship, the latter does. There are other terms to describe the dom (like Alpha).
Sub: Short for submissive. Again, the definition may sound self-explanatory. You are in a subordinate role (notice the prefix in the word “subordinate). You are under the authority of the dom in the relationship.
The alternate term for a sub is the beta (opposite of alpha). In findom, the sub also has similar terms that further describe their role. They are known as either paypigs, slave, wallet slave, and other relevant terms.
What you’ll also notice is that it follows a similar concept to where there is a sugar daddy/sugar baby relationship (where a rich man uses money to buy gifts or provide financial support to a woman who is much younger than them). But, there are some distinctions between that relationship and findom.
For example, the sugar daddy in the relationship can have the power to cut off any kind of financial access and terminate it at any given time. There is no sub/dom aspect to sugar daddy/baby relationships. With that said, let’s dive into how it works.
At this point, you are probably aware of the concept. The sub pays the dom and it’s rinse and repeat. But we’ll go a bit more in-depth about how it works.
Typically for sub/dom relationships, things can get extreme in terms of satisfying their sexual needs. Typically, BDSM is likely used in sub/dom relationships. For example, a sub will wear a collar as customary attire that indicates that they are submissive to someone.
A dom can also request a task to be performed by the sub. If the sub does not comply, the dom may inflict some kind of pain as a way to “punish” them. If you have a general awareness and understanding of what BDSM is, you might know where it goes from here.
Thanks to online platforms, it’s not always like that. OnlyFans and other platforms that allow adult content on their sites are also breeding grounds for what might be considered non-contact (physical) findom. Since content creators can make money on the platform, it gives them the advantage to leverage their earnings as a “dom”.
In this kind of sub/dom relationship, the dom demands things that the sub must provide. The dom can request tribute in the forms of money or gifts. It would be the sub’s responsibility to procure what the dom wants.
On most online platforms where these findom relationships exist, the dom in the relationship will leverage the power of the Amazon Wishlist. The sub will purchase an item for their dom and it will be sent to the latter. Obviously, the sub pays.
These items can be expensive in price. But for the sub, if they have the financial means to do so, they will buy whatever item that the dom wants. There are plenty of items that doms would add to the wishlist.
What makes this different from BDSM is the dom can possess some kind of psychological power that would be strong enough for their sub to act. Plus, the dom and the sub will never meet face to face. So the psychological humiliation aspect of BDSM is more prevalent in findom.
For example, the dom will “tease” the sub with sexual contexts. Plus, they can dress up like they are about ready to give their sub the “show of a lifetime”. Sometimes they follow through with it, sometimes they don’t.
When the sub pays the tribute to the dom (be it money or otherwise), they are likely getting nothing in return. To dive into the psychology of the sub, they pay this tribute every time with the assumption of getting something in return. Some may get the message and feel stupid about it while others will remain oblivious and the cycle continues.
For example, the dom could “promise” the sub something in a sexual nature if the latter pays the tribute. The sub follows through as expected. From there, the dom can either follow through as planned and leave a little bit more to the imagination for more “tribute” or never reciprocate.
Also, the sub may also take some measures that may not seem like a good idea to even someone with any iota of common sense. They may send their complete financial information to the dom, which will grant them access. At a time where security and safety are a must for bank accounts, this can be a really big mistake that can cause some kind of psychological harm to the sub.
What’s surprising to say the least is that most of these “subs” measure their self-worth based on money. The more they have, the better they feel about themselves. Likewise, if they have less they will feel like they are unworthy.
Some say that subs in findom typically have low self-esteem issues. So they are used to being humiliated, bullied, and ridiculed regularly. Therefore, findom is more of an “escape hatch” from what they’ve dealt with.
If you plan on creating an OnlyFans with content that will center around findom, then you have found a platform that will give you the opportunity to establish a sub/dom relationship without the physical contact or the usual BDSM stuff. While it is a practice that is frowned upon by most, it technically is legal. Let’s dive into some tips that may help you achieve success on OnlyFans as the dom in the “findom” relationship:
This should be the number one rule in the rules of online findom. It never is a good idea to use your real name or show your face if you intend to be the dom in an online findom relationship. And we say that for obvious reasons.
Without spoiling the next tip, there are ways that you can make money by still remaining anonymous and never showing your face at all. Plus, if you are in a relationship where you’ll be making money from your “subs” (figuratively and literally), it may not be wise to reveal the real you as people will recognize you and may know things that you don’t want others to be aware of.
What you’ll notice in most findom relationships is that the dom has the charm and power to “tease” you. The only difference is that they use parts of their body that may arouse the person in question. As long as your body is aesthetically pleasing and satisfying enough to someone who may be attracted to such a body type, you’ll be able to use it to your advantage.
Of course, you can use that to get your “subs” to pay under the assumption that you’d reveal more of the goods. However, you can reveal a bit or give nothing in return. But your body will play a huge role in findom.
Circling back to our “Findom Rule Book” idea, if staying anonymous was “Rule #1”, then this tip should be the second rule. What is great about OnlyFans is that you can be able to use your page as a way to direct your subscribers to your Amazon wishlist. From there, you can be able to receive things you need in order to produce more OnlyFans content without paying a single thing.
You can also update this at any time if you need someone to buy you an item you desire. Keep in mind though, there are some “subs” who cannot afford it. But there might be a few that will.
As mentioned before, there are some findom relationships where the sub would risk giving out vital information like their bank account to a dom. If you are an OnlyFans content creator, this is a boundary that you should never cross. Plus, it can also raise suspicions since it would be strange that someone would add a name of someone they never met to their bank account.
Not to mention, it will also breach the rule of anonymity since banks will require you to use your real name for security purposes. So the idea of “controlling someone’s bank account” is thrown out the window. You make more than enough on OnlyFans from other subs alone.
The following is a list of frequently asked questions that center around the topic of OnlyFans and findom. This section should be used as a handy guide so you have a deeper understanding of how the two work together. These are the following questions:
OnlyFans subscribers have been branded as “simps” by those online. However, an OnlyFans subscriber is free to choose who they follow (and eventually subscribe to). Some are called “simps” because they are paying money to OnlyFans content creators (especially those who practice findom).
The good news, it can be anonymous. Especially if you use an OnlyFans account for findom purposes. This way, you can use your body instead of showing your face. Furthermore, you can also use a stage name that can be considered fitting for a dom.
Depending on the prices you set for subscriptions, standalone content, and tips you receive you can make plenty of money. In fact, the average content creator on OnlyFans with a solid following can make $3,000 a month or more.
However, it can vary from one content creator to the next. Plus, at least one to five percent of followers eventually become paid subscribers.
You have the option to do so. However, it’s up to you as to whether or not if you want to. In findom relationships, it won’t be necessary. You may have parts of your body that may be pleasing enough to the eyes to a point where your face may not even matter.
Absolutely. As mentioned before in this guide, if you are into findom it would be wise to come up with a fake name in order to maintain anonymity.
While there are those who frown upon it, findom has actually grown in popularity over the years. Especially on platforms like OnlyFans. Yes, there is a unique group of people who desire sub/dom relationships. And it can be done without even the slightest bit of contact or those BDSM acts that can really leave a mark.
If findom is a good idea for you to achieve success on OnlyFans, then go for it. You’ll never know who will be your first “sub” (figuratively or literally).
You can definitely make a ton of money with findom guys and gals, trust me 😉
Signed up on Sunday night and have already made more than $300!!! I honestly can’t believe it.
Just wondering about the Amazon wish list, don’t the subs then know your name and Address if you send them this?
Hey! No, if they buy via your wishlist then they only see the first name that you entered (and possibly first letter of last name) but not your address or any private details.

Of all the sexual fetishes in the world, financial domination has perhaps one of the most glamourous images.
Beautiful women are sent money and lavished with expensive gifts by men who seemingly want next-to-nothing in return - it’s all about submitting to the dominant woman and relinquishing control.
Much like physical forms of BDSM, it’s this surrendering of power that is arousing. But in the majority of cases, the dominatrix (domme) and the submissive never meet - it's all done online.
Some financial domination (or findom) relationships consist of one-off payments, others are regimented regular transferrals of money and some men even hand over passwords and total control of their bank accounts to a domme, asking her to devise a minimal budget too.
But what’s the attraction for the men? We asked a self-proclaimed submissive to explain.
“The arousal factor comes from the thought of the domme invading the personal space that is your finances,” Steve* tells The Independent . “People measure their self worth with their money.
“Financial domination scoops up this notion of human beings and weaponises it as something kinky. It's intimacy, in a very capitalistic and masochistic way,” Steve explains.
He believes that most submissives get into findom due to low self-esteem, and they have an “inability to deal with rejection, humiliation, loneliness, fear of being unwanted and redundant in today’s rapid-paced society.”
According to Steve, when a submissive is discussing the transfer of money with his domme, he enters “the zone” which is “where he is free from all his woes and worries,” and becomes aroused.
“But as soon as that’s over he comes crashing back down to earth with a hole in his wallet and a head full of regret,” Steve says.
“Findom is merely another form of escapism for people who struggle with everyday life in this bizarre cash- and self-obsessed modern society.”
Another reason some men get into findom is purely to talk to a woman one-on-one, and hold her attention. A typical submissive would be a young man under the age of 35, but there are older men into findom too, Steve says.
Most men find their dommes through websites such as findom.com and Twitter, where young women advertise their services.
“All you need is a twitter account, a means of accepting payment, a few selfies of you acting rebellious and defiant and the confidence to hurl a few insults to strangers over the internet,” Steve explains.
He says that findom today is defined by the plethora of young woman bragging aggressively on Twitter, but adds that “there is a stark difference between a financial dominatrix and a mean girl demanding money.
“The former is in fact much much rarer, despite many declaring that they are one.”
True, the top dommes spend years establishing their personas and honing their skills that make men want to send them money - and become aroused doing so.
In recent years, findom has increasingly been viewed as a way to empower women and manipulate weak men, but Steve doesn’t think this is the case.
“Ultimately, a submissive hands over his money to a domme because he wants to use her as a tool to access some emotions that provide him with a chemical high that only comes from feeding his addiction to self destructive behaviour,” he explains.
But of course, there are risks for the submissives too: financial ruin, addiction, loss of property, increasing debt levels, anxiety, psychological and physical harm (mostly through self-torture tasks, according to Steve).
And there’s also the impact on real life personal relationships.
Despite this, Steve believes findom is becoming increasingly mainstream and dommes are going to more and more bizarre lengths to attract the attention of submissive men.
