Find Out What Volvo Replacement Key Fob Tricks The Celebs Are Using

Volvo drivers love the convenience of their key fob's remote features. They can lock and unlock their car or start the motor and even locate it with an app on their smartphone.

Place the fob's face up on an uncluttered surface. Find the button that releases it, then wedge a coin between the cover and the fob, and pull up carefully.

Locking the Doors

If you have a new Volvo model that we have in our dealership, you might be unaware of some of its key fob hidden features. One of them is an unlocked and lock button that you can press in case the battery on your key fob goes out.

To press the manual lock/unlock button hold your key fob with the Volvo logo facing up. Find the black button that is on the outside of the key fob's body and press it gently to unlock a cover that hides a manual key blade. You will require a flathead screwdriver, or a coin to flip the cover counterclockwise, ensuring that the arrow is aligned with "open."

The Engine is Ready to Start

Modern Volvo key fobs provide an ease of use and function that is unmatched by traditional manual keys. Key fobs, like any other battery-operated device, may lose charge over time. If you notice that your key fob becomes less responsive when you press the lock or unlock button, it might be time to replace its battery.

You can activate this feature using the key fob if your car has a dealer-installed Engine Remote Start. The car will then cool or heat to the temperature it was set at when it was parked, and can run for up to 15 minutes.

With a fingernail, remove the cover on the back of the key fob. Under the cover and on a diagonal at the body's edge you will find an unidentified button. Slide it downwards and to the right. The cover will come loose and slide off to reveal the manual blade! If you're not able to locate the button, take a look around the newly revealed manual key access to find a hidden lever or slot.

Closing the Windows

One of the features that is hidden that is not visible on Volvo key fobs is that they allow you to lower all windows instantly with them. This is helpful when trying to squeeze into tight parking spaces or just need some fresh air while driving.

Press and hold the unlocking button on your Volvo remote control for four seconds. This will lower the windows and the sunroof if you have one. After that, once you're done with your car you can shut the doors by pressing the lock button a second time for four seconds.

You can also use your key fob for activating your car's panic alarm. This will sound an alarm that is loud and attention-grabbing that will frighten off thieves and help you get home at a safe distance after a night out. This feature is useful should you live in a hazardous area or want to protect your family members while they are away.

Opening the Tailgate

Volvo's key fob is stuffed with many useful features. These are perfect when you're busy shopping for groceries or helping your kids pack their sports equipment after practice.

For example, if you have the Hands-Free Power Liftgate with logo projection and adjustable height (if equipped), you can open it using the key fob. Simply press the button open it and then use the same button to close it once you're done.

Turning off the Alarm
