First screening: June 16th 2010, Wednesday, 7-10pm Bagets, a Filipino teen cult classic Starring: Aga Mulach, William Martinez, JC Bonnin, Herbert Bautista, and Raymond Lauchengco Directed by Maryo J. De Los Reyes
Forget Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or The Breakfast Club! It’s time to feast your eyes on BAGETS, a 1984 Filipino teen cult classic.
This comedy film is a coming of age story of 5 teenagers as they go through high school living through first loves, cougar love, family problems, acceptance issues, and the usual high school shenanigans. Bagets also highlights teen issues that could only be experienced by Filipino youth living in the Philippines. It also grants foreign audiences a glimpse of Filipino culture and mindsets, especially of the times.
