KUNV (91.5 FM ) is a non-commercial , jazz-oriented campus radio station in Paradise , Nevada, broadcasting from Greenspun Hall on the campus of University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

In November 2011, KUNV HD-2 launched The Morning Rebellion Show, a student-run morning show designed to offer training on how to assemble and execute a professional morning show. Industry professional Lynn Briggs was the initial mentor of the ongoing program.

In March 2012, KUNV officially became known as 91.5 The Source, a name change intended to reflect that the station is the community's source for diverse programming unavailable on commercial radio. The station also became a Billboard reporter, making it one of very few public radio stations to ever hold that honor. During the same month the station also dropped its NPR affiliation and added PRI programming to its lineup, including the nationally syndicated "The Takeaway" program.

In January 2014, KUNV discontinued its PRI programming and shifted focus to locally produced programming. A few syndicated programs are obtained through PRX which air in the evenings.

In July 2014, KUNV was nominated by the National Association of Broadcasters for the inaugural Marconi award for Noncommercial Station of the Year. The other nominees were KCPW, WEAA, WRHU, and WSDP. [1]

In May, 2015, student programming made a return to the main station with a format reflecting what is done on the HD-2 station. Student programming runs from 9p-3a and includes independent rock, underground hip hop, and electronic music on weekdays and eclectic programming on the weekends. [2]

Classified in the UK as Amber under the Birds of Conservation Concern 4: the Red List for Birds (2015). Listed as Near Threatened on the global IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
The meadow pipit is a common nesting bird of moorland, heathland and rough grassland. In the autumn and winter, it moves out of upland areas to lowlands where it gathers in small flocks and can be found on farmland and saltmarshes. In the spring, it performs a fluttering, 'parachute' display flight. There are 2 million breeding territories in the UK.
A small, streaky, yellow-brown bird, the meadow pipit has pale, flesh-coloured legs, whereas the similar rock pipit has blackish legs. The tree pipit is very similar, but has a slightly sturdier bill.

On moorlands, meadow pipits are the most common 'foster parents' of young cuckoos. The adult cuckoo will lay a single egg in a meadow pipit's nest. he Cuckolds Light, known as the Cuckolds Island Fog Signal and Light Station or just Cuckolds Light Station, is a lighthouse located on the eastern pair of islets known as the "Cuckolds" in Lincoln County, Maine.
The fog station was first established as a daymark on November 16, 1892, for marking the islets and Collector ledge replacing a 57-foot-tall wooden tripod. In 1893 a bell was installed and a light was added in 1907. The keepers house was demolished following the 1974 decommission, but was rebuilt from 2010 to 2014, along with the wharf, and the lighthouse restored.

"When a lazuli bunting babe sets out to make bunting babies, she doesn't mess with Mr. In-Between. Instead, she goes for the extremes--choosing either one of the snazziest-looking potential mates or one of the drabbest. That's because the best territories go to the blandest or the brightest male birds, according to a new study. The unusual situation--the two extremes being favored over the middle--is a rare case of sexually selected male-male cooperation, the researchers report in the 26 October issue of Nature.
In the bird world, it's often the guys who are the head-turners. Darwin argued, and many researchers believe, that sexual selection--competition for mates--is the driving force for the evolution of such foppish ornamentation as a male peacock's tail and the stunning turquoise, white, and chestnut coloration of an adult male lazuli bunting. But Bruce Lyon of the University of California, Santa Cruz, and Erick Greene of the University of Montana in Missoula wondered why, then, yearling male lazuli buntings were so variable in color, with some birds almost as dull as the all-brown females and others as splendid as the full-grown males. Using bird-bands, photographs, and DNA fingerprinting, the researchers closely tracked the goings-on in a population of buntings living in a shrubby prairie habitat outside Missoula, Montana.
They found that the gaudy males, whether adults or juveniles, managed to win the competition for scarce good territories. Juvenile males with intermediate coloration apparently weren't aggressive or strong enough to win; but the studly guys tolerated the dullest males, letting them settle next door and sometimes even hanging out with them. The genetic fingerprinting revealed that both parties benefit. The more dull-looking neighbors a hunky bunting has, the less chance he stands to be cuckolded, for reasons that aren't entirely clear yet. The dull guys, on the other hand, get to sire significantly more young than do the intermediate-colored males--even though their partners do sometimes cheat on them."

The mercenary could feel the poison numbing his as-of-yet unbroken skin till it was deathly cold.
Then she kissed his mouth and said in a voice like icy bells, "It is true what the Men whisper above, those ruined generations of the once-proud, cowering in their thatched huts and the shadows of the ruins of their former glory.
If you will take me to the daylit world, from whence came the the god who cuckolded my mother's husband, the king, I will spare you. She left him sleeping, with a bag of jewels the size of strawberries tucked into his hand, and his ribs bruised and cracked, and the smell of her hair still on his hands.
And when he heard, some years later, that a demonic warrior princess had slain a god, he smiled softly to himself and chuckled.
