For an erotic short story, that is only centered around a threesome between two best girl friends, and one of their boyfriends. It’s okay. I mean if you wanted to read a book because of the threesome, this book really only covered the attraction between the two females and the male was just a prop. If your going into this book for sexual reasons, I think it’s not the best story for that. I mean it’s a really simple straight forward read. If you’re reading for a storyline forget it. Haha... I did some research taking all the comments into account, and I’m very interested in the Kirby Morgan M48 (bottom right). It’s modular, you can use a regular scuba reg if you want, convert to rebreather pod or Kirby’s own reg pod (which appears to be very efficient) and the mask portion is its own part of the mask - so switching/buddy breathing/ etc doesn’t impact the top portion of the mask. You can see through a whole reg exchange, you don’t waste a lot of air because you’re not clearing the top portion of the mask. And it’s affordable. For a little more than you would spend on the ScubaPro (which interestingly no one likes) you can get the base portion of the mask. Then you choose the pod you want. I’m leaning toward Kirby’s reg made just for this mask.
Thank you all for your advice and opinions, I really appreciate it. Next Spring I’ll let everyone know what I think of this mask after I get it a dive it a few times.
I don't like the Exo as I find it uncomfortable. I have always favoured the Divator but recently saw the KB M-48 . It's a much more badass version of the Hollis (which is itself a copy of the M-48 MOD-1). Had no luck on a quick search to buy one online though.
edit: Oh, and I hate that scubapro one too. Only used it a couple of times in training but very gimpy.
Is that a Kirby Morgan MOD on the bottom right with a Hollis BOV? If so I'd say that.
MOD 1 allows for you to bail out the mouthpiece and use an alternative air source without fussing with the mask portion. Would save you the hassle of bringing a spare mask and is safer imo.

At work, we just transitioned from the old school AGA masks with buddy phones to OTS Guardians with buddy phones. They're awesome.

I own an interspiro divator (AGA), I'm a commercial diver.
It's great for commercial diving, and was designed for cold water use. You have the option of having it be positive pressure or demand. Both work excellent. All in all its a great mask.
The downside is that it's expensive to have serviced, which you need to do annually and a lot of places don't have the cert to service them. Also, gas consumption is way way higher than on a regular regulator. (Saw that mentioned above)
I don't know a couple of the masks you have up there, but no one uses the exo. It looks cool, but everyone I have talked to about them say they hate it. Our company squires about 6 of them with a bulk deal and we had trouble getting rid of them.
Honestly, if you meet in water comms, go with a guardian or a divator.
If you don't need in water comms, you are better off sticking with a regular second stage.

I don’t want a maintenance nightmare, and it is life support technically, so now I’m questioning the need in the first place. Which I may want to add comms at some point, especially if I can communicate with the surface without an umbilical.
So that leaves the Scubapro and the Hollis. I’ve always liked the design of the scubapro, but I don’t see it a lot, it’s the cheapest price point, and most pan it here. The Hollis (bottom right) is new to me, but looks adaptable, like I can do several configurations with it. It’s Kirby Morgan, trusted name. I question how easy it is to work with underwater though.

I'd love to get a Guardian but they're somewhat hard to find in the UK for recreational divers, so I might end up going for an Ocean Reef.
This is the way to go. The guardian is lime an Aga...but more comfortable and generally better quality. Agas don't have a balanced second stage like a Guardian does.
You can trust your life to Kirby Morgan gear, so my vote is the Exo.
It's used in the Navy and for standby divers for surface supply operations. Lots of options, parts and service are readily available as they are common in commercial service.
The exo has been completly abamdoned by the commercial industry in the uk. They dont use it any more in the schools either. Hugely uncomfotable compared to the aga. We have one at our work shop just rotting away. Definetly wouldnt advisw any one buy one
The Divator mask is also used by the Royal Navy in the UK. It would have my vote due to it's simple design and functionality, which are basically modelled after fire fighter BA face masks. As a guess it probably has the most dead air space though.
I wouldn't spend a single dollar on a FFM for anything other than surface supplied diving.
Agreed, though are useful for underwater narration on camera.
Or contaminated/ridiculously cold water. I have friends that really like ffm but I've never really gotten it. I can see the benefits of the comm system too but for recreational diving? Half the reason I go diving is for the peace and quiet lol
