Out of a desire of a few of our members to understand paraphilias, fetishes, and other such things, we have created a survey to measure prevalences and sexual likes/dislikes.
All avenites who would like to take the survey click here.
We also need people to spread this survey around to as many people as possible if we want to get useful results. Especially encouraged are sexuality forums and social networking sites.

We got creative coming up with the questions for it :innocent:
I have a few questions before I continue answering it.
First question - gender - there's a box. does that mean if it's 'other' we put our answer in the box? Because I typed something in the box but it wanted me to choose an above question as well.
2nd question - fetishes etc. Do we use the technical terms for them? Like I don't know let me make something up - a duck fetish or something. Would we type fetish for ducks, or would you rather have ____ia (i have no idea what you call having a duck fetish is)?
I think that's all the questions I have at the moment I may have more later.

Yes, if your gender is 'other' you check the other box and put in how you would describe it.

However you'd like to describe them, if you know the "scientific" name that's good, if you know the "street name" that works too, or if you just describe it it's all good.
Most of all, take this survey to the best of your knowledge and information, but don't take it dead-serious.
And don't forget to spread it to as many people as you can.

We need this to go to wherever it can. Social networking sites and sexuality forums and such are especially good places, though I myself only have access to myspace and aven.
I can put it on the student room - lots of teenagers will probably be intrigued that half of those things are possible, but they'll be bored enough to reply.

I took the survey..just for the heck of it
Remember to use the correct URL in the first post: the surveyor thingy organizes the results based on which url they went to to get there, so later on if we wish to try to filter results and such it will be easier to do so (EG: Aven is NOT an accurate demographic of asexuals vs other orientations )
Hell, it's hit the limit of 100 responses....
I wanted to take the survey but when I clicked on the link I got a window on which it was written: "This survey is currently closed. Please contact the author of this survey for further assistance.".
Did this happened to anyone? I'd really like to take a look at this survey, so if you know how to fix that, please tell me!
I think that's because it's hit it's limit (100 responses). It's up to OwlSaint what to do with it now. :)
I'm actually at a complete loss for what to do with it now. I'm not terribly confident in how well-written it was, nor how useful the results truly are.
Also, 68 of the 100 were from the AVEN collecter and 57 of the participants listed their orientation as Asexual. For the actual fetish questions, they had between 20-28 people answering them.
I'm still not sure I gained any knowledge or understanding....
Too bad there can't be any more than 100 participants....it wouldn't be possible to make another survey with a higher participant limit number, would it?

Yes, by paying the site for it. However, I'm not sure it would be worth the investment...
Is there another site or venue that you could use to get similar information?
Possibly, the only problem is figuring out a way to get accurate and useful results, which after this attempt seems impossible.... :S
Heh. Well, you'd need a large sample size for reasonable data. Especially when polling asexuals. I suppose you could use something like HelloQuizzy (formerly OKCupid, formerly Emote) but I don't know if you'd get hardly anything out of that (I don't know how much it lets you track).

Yeah. But I was saying that many of us wouldn't contribute as much to the fetish portion. Though I suppose that's data to, in a way.
