Camila Giorgi’s French Open run came to an end on Monday following a weekend filled with wardrobe drama .
The Italian tennis player — who caused a stir Saturday after an official seemingly took issue with the size of an advertising logo on her attire — dropped her fourth-round match to Daria Kasatkina of Russia, 6-2, 6-2. Kasatkina now advances to Tuesday’s quarterfinal and a matchup with Veronika Kudermetova.
Prior to Monday’s match against Kasatkina, all eyes had been on Giorgi, as the world No. 30 had previously sported the logo for the kitchen appliance manufacturer, DeLonghi, across her chest during a third-round win over Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus.
An umpire is said to have chatted with Giorgi before Saturday’s match against Sabalenka, with Giorgi reportedly saying, “I don’t have any change, this is my only dress. I played with it before,” according to News.com.au .
Giorgi wore a similar ensemble in Monday’s loss to Kasatkina, but the call out to DeLonghi was located on the sleeve of her dress instead. She also gave the company a shoutout on her Instagram Story, posting a photo of herself from Saturday’s victory.
In addition to sharing action shots from the court , Giorgi frequently posts photos of her day-to-day looks on Instagram, where she boasts nearly 600,000 followers.
Recently, Giorgi shared an image of herself lounging on a couch ahead of the French Open, as she modeled a black mini dress and matching heels.

WHEN you're competing, sometimes you CAN take your eye off the ball... literally.
These sports stars suffered embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions, while in action on the field, court, and even the pool.
They join the most recent exposed athlete - Australian rugby league ace Billy Burns, when his penis fell out of his shorts on live TV playing for Penrith Panthers.
The tennis legend has caused controversy through the years with her revealing outfits.
At the 2010 French Open she faced off against Patty Schnyder, and blew her off the court winning 6-3, 6-3.
But it wasn't that scintillating performance that drew all the attention.
It was her lacy black and red outfit with skin-coloured cycling shorts underneath that left little to the imagination.
"Lace has never been done before in tennis, and I've been wanting to do it for a long time," she said after the game.
With all the fast-paced grappling that goes on in the WWE, it's amazing this doesn't happen more.
Bryan was competing in an Elimination Bout against Drew Gulak, when he was left wide open.
Bryan's tights were yanked up, along with his Speedos, while he was up against the ropes.
Out popped his testicles, giving viewers more than they'd bargained for.
In 2018, Huddersfield Town took on Bournemouth in a crunch Premier League clash.
TV cameras panned towards manager David Wagner to capture the tension among his players.
What they did get was an unnamed Town player adjusting his shorts and accidentally flashing his penis behind Wagner.
Needless to say, but Huddersfield weren't caught with their trousers down in the final moments and hung on for the win.
Colombian cycling isn't something that would be on everybody's radar.
However, when Colombian women's cycling team IDRD-Bogota Humana-San Mateo-Solgar wore these outrageous bodysuits in 2014 they became front-page news.
The six ladies wore a uniform that had a wide, flesh-toned panel that extended from mid torso to the upper thighs - meaning they looked exposed.
It caused uproar, and former president of the Union Cycliste Internationale Brian Cookson was outraged.
He tweeted: "To the many who have raised the issue of a certain women's team kit, we are on the case. It is unacceptable by any standard of decency."
Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen took man marking to another level with this move in a Premier League game in 2013.
When former Aston Villa striker Nicklas Helenius got the better of him, the defender grabbed his opponent by the shorts.
Obviously, being a loose fit, they came straight down and ended up round his ankles.
Lucky for Helenius, his underwear saved him from exposing himself further.
With their ripped physiques and tight swimsuits, it's a matter of time before there's a rip.
And that happened to US swimmer and Beijing relay gold medalist Ricky Berens during a qualifying heat of the 4x100m relay freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Rome.
“I kind of freaked out for just a second,” Berens said.
“I felt like [the hole] was almost down to my knees. I felt like I was putting on a pretty good show.”
Even the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony isn't immune to wardrobe malfunctions.
Dancer Georgia Lear flashed her rear end to 1.5billion viewers ducking under a towel at the very second a camera zoomed in on her.
But on social media, she saw the funny side.
Brisbane teen Lear said: "Last night I was feeling really BUMMED... BUTT that’s all BEHIND me now!
"I hope you all had a CRACKing good time watching the ceremony. Don’t forget the camera adds 5kgs... yes it was me!!!!"
Jockey Blake Shinn was riding atop Miss Royale as the race was heading towards the final stages.
But as the Australian headed down the home straight at Canterbury Racecourse in 2015 disaster struck.
Shinn's trousers dropped revealing his backside, but at least he saw the funny side of it.
He said: "I usually come here and stay focused in search of winners.
"People wouldn't know I'm that cheeky.
"I was more worried about winning the race. They [trousers] went just after the start and there was nothing I could do."
Photoshoots can be tricky, even if you're a seasoned pro like surfer Gilmore.
The seven-time World Champion got more than she bargained for riding some waves during a shoot with Vogue magazine at Sydney's Bondi Beach in 2014.
As she showed off her skills, her one piece slipped down - almost revealing more than she would've intended.
Gilmore laughed off the incident, as she pulled her suit back above her bust.
At the 2018 Winter Olympics, viewers were shocked when French ice skater Papadakis exposed her breast to millions of viewers around the world.
Papadakis desperately tried to cover up and eventually managed to clip her top back together, but it was no use.
Incredibly though, she and partner Guillaume Cizeron recorded a score of 81.93.
In 2016, American Football hopeful Jones competed in the famous NFL trail that is aired to millions.
What he didn't bank on was his shorts malfunctioning while he was showing off his speed in the 40-metre dash.
As he ran, out popped his private parts.
Jones desperately dived to the ground as soon as he had crossed the line and attempted to spare his blushes, but it was too late.
You're focused on your race, you're running at pace, and it's the last thing you could imagine happening.
But marathon runner Jozef Urban suffered the embarrassing mishap of his penis slipping out his shorts as he competed in the Kosice Peace Marathon in Slovakia.
Worse still, it happened near the finishing line where scores of fans were cheering him (and his chap) on.
Still, he shaved off 27 seconds off his personal best and finished in 10th place.

The former US Open champion was forced to quickly change her outfit after it interrupted her first match at Flushing Meadows.
A hasty change of outfit worked wonders for Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu as she powered into the second round of the US Open on Tuesday morning AEST.
The 22-year-old, winner of the US Open crown in 2019, overcame France’s Harmony Tan 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 to keep alive her dream of a second grand slam title.
But the victory was not without drama as a flustered Andreescu scrambled to change her clothing.

The former world No. 4 arrived on court in a navy blue skirt, but with gusts of wind blowing her outfit around, she pleaded with the chair umpire to make a change.
“It’s not my fault, it’s Nike’s fault, this dress is so bad,” Andreescu could be heard complaining. “I need to go. This is so bad.”
She quickly returned to the court wearing shorts and a white top and set about navigating her way past Tan, who made headlines in June when she defeated Serena Williams at Wimbledon.
Andreescu later explained her change of outfit after securing victory.
“It was just bothering me on some forehands. I just felt like it was kind of coming up a bit. Obviously the wind didn’t help,” she said.

Andreescu said she had pleaded with the umpire not to dock her a bathroom break – which he agreed to – and said she had not intended to criticise kit manufacturer Nike.
“He was very nice to say it was totally okay,” she explained.
“I could have definitely used a different choice of wording.
“So I apologise to anyone I disrespected. I love Nike and I hope I can be with them for the rest of my life.”
Elsewhere, British icon Andy Murray marked the 10th anniversary of his maiden grand slam triumph with an impressive US Open straight sets win over Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo.
The 35-year-old defeated the 24th seed 7-5, 6-3, 6-3, showing no signs of recent cramping problems which plagued his hardcourt summer.
“It felt like five sets,” said Murray after his first straight sets victory at the slams since Wimbledon in 2017.
“They were very tricky conditions, very hot and humid. Just really happy to get through that one.”
Murray won the first of his three grand slams at the US Open in 2012, ending Britain’s 76-year wait for a men’s champion at the majors.
“It seems like a long time ago when I won here. A lot has happened in my career since then but it was huge moment for me.”
Now ranked 51, Murray will face American wildcard Emilio Nava for a place in the last 32.
Meanwhile, two-time grand slam champion Simona Halep was knocked out of the US Open after suffering a shock defeat to unseeded Ukrainian Daria Snigur on Tuesday morning.
American tennis icon Serena Williams has pulled off a massive upset at the US Open, defeating the world No. 2 in dramatic scenes.
A trio of Australians have advanced to the round of 32 at the US Open, with another three countrymen hoping to do the same on Friday.
Nick Kyrgios complained to the umpire he breathed in marijuana from the crowd and then spat towards his team in an incredible meltdown.
