In recent few years the world has transformed its face in almost all the spheres of life. The good news is that more and more women are coming forward and had have engaged themselves in some of the most multifarious spheres like Politics. It’s so wonderful to see this change in the deep seated thought process of people which only focused on crushing a woman’s dream under those of the men. This incredibly beautiful change is definitely going to bring about an optimistic transformation in the various spheres of the world.
Here is a precise list of some of the gutsy female President around the world:
1. President Kersti Kaljulai, Estonia (2016)

Kaljulai is the first female President of the country who has proudly joined the association of men who have served as the President of the Nordic country since 1938. She has before worked as the Economic advisor to the Prime Minister from 1999-2002. Besides, she has also been the member of the European courts of Auditors from 2004 to 2016. She was born in 1969 in Tartu, the second largest city of the country. She has obtained her graduation degree in biology from the Tartu University and a post graduation degree in business management from the same University.
2. Tsai Ing-wen, Taiwan President (2016)

Tsai Ing-Wen has several first to her name. She took oath as the President of the Republic of China in 2016 and is serving the country with extraordinary dedication since then. She is not only the first female President of the country but has made her name shine forever by becoming the second President from DPP (democratic Progressive Party). She is the first female unmarried President, the first President of aboriginal and Hakka descent. Apart from that she is also the first person to be the President who has not been the Mayor of the State. Her aspirations and the power to walk through the challenges are unparalleled.
3. Hilda Heine, the Marshall Islands, President (2016)

She is the first female President of the Marshall Island! Heine has served as the education minister of the country previously. She is the first and only female leader of an independent island nation of the Pacific. She is one of the three female members of the parliament and is the only citizen of the Marshall Island to have obtained a doctorate. Not only she has made her influence in the Political sphere but she is one the most educated citizens of the country. With her extraordinary educational background she has proven herself to be one of the best leaders to have brought reforms in the country.
4. Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Nepal (2015)

Bidhya Devi Bhandari, a women’s right campaigner became the first female President of Nepal in 2015, which was a milestone move for the country as referred to by many great leaders. Besides being the first ever female President of the state, she is also the second person to sit on the most royal positions. She Environment has also served as the defence minister of the country from 2009 to 2011 and as Population and minister in 1997. Unlike many of her male counterparts she has been working continuously towards minorities and women’s rights. Her courage to fight in spite of being a widow and mother of two is emblematic.
5. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, Mauritius (2015)

Gurib is the third woman to serve as the head of the country and is the first female elected President of the country. Before her, Elizabeth II and Monique Ohsan Bellepeau have served as the head of the state. Ameenah has worked as the MD of CIDP Research and Innovative and had studied the deep implications of various indigenous plants of the country. At the University of Mauritius, she has worked as the professor of Organic chemistry where he was successively promoted to Pro-Vice Chancellor in 2004-10. Besides that, she has also served as the Chairperson of the Internation council for scientific union from 2011-14.
6. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Croatia (2015)

Kolinda is the fourth President of the country who has been there in office since February 2015. With her inception in office she has become the first female and the youngest (age 46) President of the country. Before she was elected to the position she has held various diplomatic and Governmental positions inside and outside the country. From 2003-05, she has worked as the 2nd female minister for European affairs. In the subsequent years from 2005-08 she became the first female minister of European Integration and Foreign Affairs. Until her inception in the President’s office she was a member of the Croatian democratic Union, conservative party.
7. Simonetta Sommaruga, Switzerland (2015)

Simonetta has served as the Vice President of the country in 2014 upon which she succeeded to the position of the President of the country in 2015. She is also the existing member of the Swiss federal Council and a member of the Switzerland’s Social Democratic Party. Besides that she has also served as the justice minister of the country and from 1993 to 1999, she has worked as the director of the Consumer Protection Foundation which made her a well known face of the part of Switzerland which speaks German. In addition to that she is also the benefactor of SAFFA 2020.
8. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, Malta (2014)

Coleiro is the ninth President of the country and has been serving the country since 2014. From 1998 to 2014 she has been there in the Political scenario as the member of the Labour Party of Malta. She has also worked as the Minister of the Family and social solidarity from 2013 to 2014. She is the youngest ever President of the country just as the age of 55 and is the second woman sit at the post of President after Agatha Barbara. She has also involved herself in social causes by forming, “The president’s foundation for the Wellbeing of Society” which focuses on giving advice to President on improving the condition of the downtrodden.
9. Park Geun-hye, South Korea (2013)

Park is the first female President of South Korea. Though she is unmarried, she has often spotted quoting being married to her nation. After she won through the election she promised her nation’s people to provide them with a renaissance of change and has consequently proved to be the leader of the people. She has worked day and night to bring in prosperity and unity to her nation and simultaneously maintained while handling affairs of North Korea. Her outstanding courage and velour cannot be expressed in words!
10. Joyce Banda, Malawi (2012-2014)

Joyce has served as the Minister of women, child welfare and community service from 2004-06 and subsequently from 2006-09 as the Minister of Foreign affairs. In the following years from 2009-12 she has served as the Vice-President of the People’s Party. In 2014 she was also named by Forbes the most powerful woman of Africa and 40th most powerful woman around the world.
Breaking all the impotencies, these women have proved that virility is not enough to spread positivity. The Universe will work well only with the confluence of men and women’s skills. Given their zeal and looking at the fervour of these women to contribute to the world’s affairs, we must take time to appreciate their efforts.
