This quest was bugged for me today anyway. The first orb was about 50 meters below where it should be, so it was impossible to finish legitimately.
Yup, same. I started the quest, looked out and was like "that seems kinda far... is the first orb supposed to be the failure one?" dash , slowly falling "oooooooh, so that's where the fist orb went".
I got lucky that I play a demon hunter, which let me double jump and make it to the second orb.
Did it today legit. Just jump on big rock to right and run and jump right at he last second and hit dash. You'll hit the very outer edge of the orb and get it.
It's not impossible, you just need to make a very long jump out from one of the rocks before using the first fel rush.
You can mount up before talking to the guy. If you run and jump while mounted and then dash in the air you can get to the next orb.
Flying actually brought more interest to the game for me. You also realize how small legion areas are compared to previous xpacs once you get it. Literally spent an hour just flying in my druid collecting treasures because I could with ease, and leveled from it lol.

Oh man, this was so disappointing to me but I also knew it was coming. It's no wonder they disabled flying from the start. The zones are comparatively tiny, and made "bigger" by using tricks like the huge number of cliffs and hills that you must travel around to get anywhere. They just crammed everything close together and separated it via unscalable walls to make things seem farther apart. Once you get flying it becomes very noticeable that groups of wq's which used to take a fair amount of travel can be completed in minutes.
Yeah I loved that as well. It's going to get nerfed, but fuck those quests. They aren't hard... WHEN the buttons work properly and don't stop half an inch short of the bubble....

Try doing the quest with a latency over 250. Doesn't work st all. This would be the the only way
I've done it multiple times with a ping of ~270. It's more annoying that doing it at a lower ping, but nowhere near impossible. Maybe your problem isn't a high ping, but an inconsistent ping? I could see that making it pretty difficult.
