Federico Gutierrez, winner of the Team for Colombia consultation and as a candidate?
Federico Gutierrez managed to reach the finals of his candidacy for the center-right party, and with more than 1.7 million votes. He was the former mayor of Medellin, won Barguil, Char Penalosa, Barguil as well as the tab for los Cristianos, Aydee Lizarazo.

He has been an elected Medellin Municipal Youth Councilor since 2003. Gutierrez is a Civil Engineer by profession, graduated from the University of Medellin has a Specialization Degree in Senior Management from the Pontifical Bolivarian University and one in Political Science.
Federico Gutierrez's professional life wasn't all about politics. He also worked as consultant for HGI Consultores, and a Resident Engineer with Company Vifasa S.A., an engineering and construction company. In his private life, he advocates and asserts that his family is his most significant asset. He is married to a woman and has two children.
His time as a councilman was a time when he backed Sergio Fajardo's Mayoralty, and later , Alonso Salazar's. He was elected to the Mayor's Office of Medellin, shifting his goals in the year the year 2015. Like other mayors in the Hidroituango projects they were beset by corruption. Daniel Coronell published an investigation that found him to be accused of corruption and kept his cash in tax havens.
In Fico Gutierrez , he has been in contact with the mayors of the past whom he has backed, and recently stated "I am in solidarity with the people who are included in the report, because I don't think one makes this kind of choice so that a diversion tunnel is built and the other party is in the solidarity of others and what certain sectors do is attack by strategies of political power".
A new race for presidency
In the month of October, 2021, the so called Experience coalition was created that later became known as the Team for Colombia. Fico Gutierrez of the Center-right coalition was elected Federico's candidate. Now, Fico Gutierrez from the Democratic Center is supporting Federico. Paola was also running for a seat in the 2022 election.
On several occasions he reiterated his belief that his administration model is based on public management of the people. Fico Gutierrez stated that politics is a vocation. Fico Gutierrez was second in voting, which means that 'Fico' (as he prefers to call himself) will represent Antioquia's right.
