Federico Gutierrez, a former mayor of Medellin, was born in the city in 1974. In 2003, he started his political career as a city councilor for the city he grew up in, he's identified as the Municipal Youth Councilor and Municipal Planning Councilor for Medellin. Gutierrez is an engineer in the field of civil engineering at the University of Medellin. He has also earned a doctorate in management for senior executives at the Pontifical Bolivarian University.
Federico Gutierrez was not only an influential politician during his professional career. He was also consultant at HGI Consultores as well as an engineer in residence for Company Vifasa S.A. (a glass and construction company). In his private life, he defends and asserts that his family is the most important. Fico Gutierrez 's married to a woman , and has two children.
He backed Sergio Fajardo as mayor and Alonso Salazar later in his councilman's career.
