Rapper Fetty Wap has been arrested this morning in Newark, New Jersey, on violations of pretrial release in his federal drug charges case , Fox News Digital has learned.
Prosecutors from the Eastern District of New York accuse the rapper, whose legal name is Willie Junior Maxwell II, of threatening an individual, who has not been identified, on FaceTime and threatening to kill that person, while displaying what appeared to be a firearm during that call.
"In the call the defendant possessed a gun, threatened to kill him, and called an individual a ‘rat,’ despite the fact that this was a direct violation of both state law and the conditions of his release," says FBI’s Special Agent Derek Wonderland in a court affidavit. The government sought revocation of his $500,000 bond at a court hearing at Central Islip federal court this afternoon.
Magistrate Judge Steven Locke revoked Fetty Wap’s bond and the rapper will now be held pending his trial
A lawyer for the rapper has not return a request for comment.

Fetty Wap was first arrested on the case on Oct. 28, 2021, and was held without bail initially, but about a week later senior U.S. District Judge Joanna Seybert granted the defendant’s bond application.
At the time, the artist pleaded not guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances.

Last October, another five defendants were also charged in the same drug trafficking conspiracy case , including New Jersey corrections officer Anthony Cyntje.
"As alleged, the defendants transported, distributed and sold more than 100 kilograms of deadly and addictive drugs, including heroin and fentanyl, on Long Island, deliberately contributing to the opioid epidemic that has devastated our communities and taken too many lives," stated at the time U.S. Attorney Breon Peace about the "multimillion-dollar bicoastal drug distribution organization" that had Suffolk County, New York, as their home base.
The defendants allegedly obtained the narcotics on the West Coast and used the U.S. Postal Service as well as drivers with hidden vehicle compartments to transport the drugs across the country from June of 2019 to June of 2020.
Since the unsealing of the indictment, Wap’s co-defendants Cyntje and Robert Leonardi have pleaded guilty.
The artist known for the 2014 hit "Trap Queen" has run into trouble with the law at least a few other instances that include a DUI and also battery charges .

New Jersey rapper Fetty Wap , arrested last year for his alleged connection to a bicoastal opioid drug ring, has been arrested again.
According to Today , Fetty Wap, known for his 2015 international hit Trap Queen, was arrested early Monday morning.
The New Jersey hip-hop recording artist stands accused of allegedly violating the terms of his bail when he threatened to kill someone while on FaceTime. He allegedly brandished a weapon on the call based on legal paperwork filed with the court. The incident took place last year in December.
He was arrested in Newark, New Jersey, and indicted in the Eastern District of New York, according to John Marzulli , Eastern District of New York spokesperson.
Magistrate Judge Steven Locke of the Eastern District of New York revoked Fetty Wap’s bond on Monday afternoon, remanding the rapper to jail.
Court documents state that the government received a video clip of a FaceTime call from Dec. 11, 2021. He threatened an unnamed individual and was seen pointing a gun at the person and said, “Imma kill you and everybody you with,” along with saying, “I’m gonna kill you,” which he reiterated several times during the call.
The rapper violated the law with the gun possession and by threatening the person on the other end of the FaceTime call. He also broke the terms of his agreement per the $50,000 bond posted on Nov. 5, 2021, for his role in allegedly possessing and conspiring to sell controlled substances.
Last October, the My Way rapper/singer was arrested at Citi Field in Queens, New York, on a two-count federal indictment for his alleged role in a bicoastal drug ring based out of Long Island, Page Six reported .
Authorities have stated that Fetty Wap , whose real name is William Junior Maxwell II , was indicted with five other men on firearms charges in connection to the ring. Those taken into custody include Anthony Cyntje , a New Jersey corrections officer, and his brother, Robert Leonardi .
Maxwell is accused of having transported and distributed drugs, including heroin and fentanyl, on Long Island, CNN reported.

NEW YORK (AP) — Rapper Fetty Wap was jailed Monday after, prosecutors say, he threatened to kill a man during a FaceTime call in 2021, violating the terms of his pretrial release in a pending federal drug conspiracy case.
Wap, whose real name is Willie Maxwell, told the man, “Imma kill you and everybody you with,” and flashed a gun during the Dec. 11 video call about two months after his arrest in the drug case, prosecutors said.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven Locke, acting on a request from prosecutors, revoked Maxwell’s bond and sent him to jail following a hearing Monday in federal court on Long Island.
Messages seeking comment were left with Maxwell’s lawyers. The “Trap Queen” rapper is scheduled to perform in Mobile, Alabama, on Aug. 19 and Austin, Texas, on Aug. 27, according to his website.
Maxwell was initially arrested last October on charges alleging he participated in a conspiracy to smuggle large amounts of heroin, fentanyl and other drugs into the New York City area.
Maxwell, who pleaded not guilty, was released after posting a $500,000 bond, secured by property he owns in Georgia, and agreeing to certain conditions, including that he not violate any federal, state or local laws while on release and that he not possess a gun or other weapon.
Prosecutors say evidence, including a recording of the FaceTime call, showed probable cause that Maxwell knowingly violated the conditions of his release.
During the call, Maxwell repeatedly threatened, “I’m gonna kill you” and was seen holding a gun and pointing it at the screen, according to an FBI affidavit filed on the court docket. After the man on the other end of the call called Maxwell a rat, Maxwell responded by saying, “Your man is a rat,” according to the affidavit.
Prosecutors did not identify the person Maxwell is accused of threatening, referring to the man in court papers only as John Doe.
In the underlying drug case, Maxwell and five co-defendants are accused of conspiring to possess and distribute more than 100 kilograms (220 pounds) of heroin, fentanyl and crack cocaine between June 2019 and June 2020.
The scheme allegedly involved using the U.S. Postal Service and cars with hidden compartments to move drugs from the West Coast to Long Island, where they were stored for distribution to dealers on Long Island and in New Jersey, prosecutors said.
Maxwell rose to prominence after “Trap Queen,” his debut single, reached No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in May 2015.
He has had other brushes with the law, including a 2019 arrest in Las Vegas for allegedly assaulting three employees at a hotel-casino. He was previously arrested in November 2017 and charged with DUI after police said he was drag racing on a New York City highway.
