FOMO

Fear of missing out (FOMO) is a significant burden for many young individuals today.

In this age of globalization, the world is seemingly at our fingertips, with glimpses of everyone's lifestyles readily available on our smartphones. However, these glimpses often present an edited, superficial version of life, showcasing only the positive aspects through photos or videos on social media. Instead of inspiring and uplifting, this curated portrayal serves as a comparison platform, demoralizing many who are filled with aspirations, and sometimes even leading them to contemplate giving up on themselves.

Looking over videos with a content filled with joy, happiness, luxury material having someone at the same age, seemingly living life better with pleasant self determination, bells a ring that reminds you that you are being late, you are losing vibration to the worst, reminding you that you are missing a lot, reminding you that you can’t catch up anymore,it is too late sound while you are trying your best, while you are living good for your self,it creates huge doubts and disappointment about yourself, your surrounding and what you have, even about all the good qualities you have. And puts you in insecurities for a while then depression which later would sum up to cause suicidal ideation,to the worst suicide.

The continuous reminder through social media content that peers are enjoying better opportunities or living luxurious lives contributes to the fear of missing out (FOMO), resulting in insecurities, depression, and considerable stress. Despite these negative feelings, individuals often continue to engage with these platforms, maintaining a connection even as they grapple with fear, insecurity, and depression.

This situation can create a never-ending cycle, keeping you stuck in the same place. Even though you might believe you've moved beyond the crowd, you still find yourself yearning to see what you might be missing. Seeking that momentary pleasure and dopamine rush by scrolling through your phone makes you temporarily forget your reality. However, in the process, you lose interest in your own life and daily routine.

Moral of the story...

Never crush your soul while chasing the world's nightmare.
