I know this sounds weird and outrageous and I thought hard before writing to you. But I could not take it anymore and decided to write.
I am an 17-year-old young lady and I am sexually attracted to my father. It started happening about a year ago when I began developing this intense desire to be around him all the time. This grew into actual sexual desire. Whenever he talks to me or hugs me (as fathers usually do) I get turn on and have a raging desire for him.
I think he has not noticed I desire him sexually but I am pretty much sure that he has noticed that I like hugging him and rubbing against him and stuff like that. I just hope in my heart that he think is just a daughter expressing her normal love for her father.
I really want to get rid of that feeling because I love my father as a father. No, I don’t have a boyfriend because I have this strange feeling my father will get jealous.
Young people your age normally go through hormonal imbalances which results in conflicting emotions and excessive energy.
One way is to find a safe, harmless outlet for those conflicting emotions and the surplus energy. Preferably something physical that involves discipline, like athletics. At the very least, take it out on a pillow. They don’t fight back.
Additionally get out of the house more often. Go to the library, meet new friends, develop a new hobby, join a youth group. Do things that are productive and will keep you busy.
Also talk to your parents together. Tell them you love them and how much you appreciate them being in your life. The feeling you have will pass, just make sure you don’t let it get you into any trouble.

It has never given me any advice. I don’t think prayer will do anything. Best thing for her to do is socialize with men her own age, and stop spending so much time with her dad. However these feelings are not that uncommon at that age. Ok, ok, ok. I see some bigger problems here. Electra Complex – unresolved, unconscious libidinous desire of a daughter for her father – it appears from the writings of this young lady if true, there are symptoms of Electra complex an evidence of some uresolved issues. Some of us at some point in time of our lives have known personally or heard about this incidents of incest or rapes occuring in our families or the coummunity and remain silent about it. Where is her help? The problems I see here are 1) Lack of Parental guidance. First I think it should start at the home with DAD and MOM, they should be held responsible to a certain extent because she should have been receiving counseling from DAD as to the correct way in which to express her sexual desires/emotions. A proper forum should have been set by DAD/MOM to allow for proper education. DAD in particular should be held accountable because he is at the receiving end of the sexual robing. He should know that it is wrong and I see no evidence that she has indicated that he is against it. He should certainly be counseling her against it in order to negate those unconscious desires because he should know the difference between a daughter father rob versus a sexual gratification rob. He is feeling it and perhaps he is allowing it to happen because he is getting some sexual satification from it hence the reason he would be jealous if she has a boyfriend. It is wrong, wrong, wrong for him to be receiving it and not do anything to negate it. Though it is not unconscious on her part, DAD is also a problem 2) Society(people on a whole) makes it extremely difficult for some of us who are experiencing these difficult situation to seek help. Just read the amount of “salop” or “is tolee she want” comments that were posted here. I think her bravery to seek help through this medium should be applauded because this may be the only medium she know where she could find help. It is not easy to go throught difficult situations and want to talk about it therefore, I believe the professionals and authoritating bodies wherever (welfare as in the case of Dominica)this is happening are not making themselves readily availble like Bella is. Hopefully Bella is a professionl trained in these areas to assist but frankly sometimes I believe here advice is not helpful enough which may lead the person to a more downward detrimental predicament. If one can reach out to Bella, they should be able to reach out to other professional persons or bodies to find help in the same manner. As in the case of many I have read through this Bella medium, she has a serious issue which needs to be resolved and lots more should be done about it as there are many unresolved, uupublised incidents in our communities that we may know about privately.
