She's a female student I admired, recently got close to, realized her honor student appearance is fake, got attracted to her even more anyway, and my heart won't stop beating rapidly when I'm near her… So why did it turn out like this?

"Yeah. I wanted to do it with you with nothing else in the way. So I thought this was unfair."

I said it with a boiling head.
I can't think straight, but I'm telling the girl in front of me how I feel.

It gets awkward, so I look away from Tohsaka and scratch my cheek.

Something suddenly touches my lips.

I quickly pull back.
I must have acted funny, because the one who kissed me…

Tohsaka still scolds me.
And it's not in her usual arrogant way. She's yelling at me in a way that makes me realize I've done a bad thing.

" Um, Tohsaka."
"…You stupid Shirou. I told you it hurts. …I'm never going to have sex with you again."
"Uh um."

What can I say back to that?
I think I'll only piss her off more if I apologize, but I think it does no good to say nothing.

" Tohsaka, um…"
I can't look away from her tears and I try to find something to talk about.

"Oh."
She yells at me.
I don't know if I've succeeded, but Tohsaka is yelling at me as usual.

" I see. Then our Magic Circuits are connected, right?"
"…It's a one-way path from me to Shirou, but yeah.
It will take a bit before the effect takes place, but you should be able to receive my magical energy supply as a reserve tank."

Tohsaka glares at me as she explains.
Tohsaka created our connection even when I was going wild over her.

I close my right hand in front of Tohsaka.
I don't really feel it yet.
But I believe our contract is there, since Tohsaka said so.

" Thanks, Tohsaka. And I'm sorry. I couldn't hold myself back and made you cry."

Tohsaka glares at me.

…I don't know if she's angry or just sulking.
Tohsaka's voice is surprisingly kind.

"…Don't be stupid. Guys have a lot of business as well."
I do, but I didn't say so in front of Tohsaka.
I bet she would have gotten me back right on the spot if I said so.

No matter what Tohsaka may need to do, it's true that we don't have much time.
The date has changed already.
I bet we should be heading out to the Ryudou Temple within an hour.

I close my eyes and feel the magical energy pouring into me.

Tohsaka isn't consciously supplying me with magical energy yet, but it's already enough to fill me up.
If Emiya Shirou's magical energy capacity is 20 or 30, she always has 500 magical energy.
…I'm sure it would take years to fill up her whole capacity, but I bet her maximum capacity could reach a thousand.

"…I'm amazed. She really is amazing."
It makes me realize her greatness again.
Well, she's exhausted right now and most magi only keep about 80 percent of their magical energy, so Tohsaka has about 400 magical energy right now.

But that is still a huge amount.
I use about two magical energy to use one strengthening magic,
and about five magical energy to use one projection magic.
Using that example, I can use my projection magic dozens of times now when I could only do it six times before.

"……Well, a cheap vehicle will overheat even if there is enough gasoline."
But this has greatly increased my power.
I might even be able to beat that king of heroes with this.

I noticed that sex in HF is important to the story. In Unlimited Blade Works it's not the same, because sex is not important to the story, but in Fate Route? are sex scenes important on this route?
The ones in Fate are also just kind of slapped in there, they're not quite as out of place as the one in UBW but they're close. The second one makes a bit of sense storywise but the first is one of the main reasons why "mana transfer" is such a meme in the community.
Not really, but the second one holds some significance in the fact that’s it’s essentially Saber showing Shirou how she feels while staying true to her oath. It’s kind of a release of all the emotions that were building up inside both these characters up until that point. Given the massive fight where both of them nearly died , and the reveal of how Shirou feels, I’d say that this scene is sort of a cheat way for Saber to show him she feels the same, while still under the guise of “mana transfer”. So yeah I’d actually say that the second sex scene holds some significance to our two main characters.
The Rituals are essentially what boosts their relationship to the next level as we remember Saber wasn’t entirely ummm.. Comfortable with all of that, and yet very much enjoyed the end result. Being Shirou showing Saber a different part of life that might’ve been missing due to the Oath.
Shirou being Saber’s first is especially important imo.
The 2nd time being more planned and not Do or Die, was definitely a more intimate moment for Saber.
It’s purpose is to “rejuvenate” saber’s “mana”
The second one is relevant in Saber's character development, which by association unfortunately makes the first one necessary. The first one is really forced, but it informs aspects of Saber and Shirou's relationship that become relevant in the second scene.
Both are still badly written mind you.
It depends on what you define as “important to the story”
Like I strongly believe that the UBW sex scene feels the most tacked on—comes out of nowhere, no foreshadowing, just happens last minute. Sure, it’s relevant to the story... but it could be swapped out with any number of things without hurting the story in any way. Heaven’s Feel is, as you mentioned, the opposite—those sex scenes are hugely ingrained in the themes of the story, and in all honesty SFW Heaven’s Feel is nowhere near as good
For Fate, I’d say it’s a bit of both. The initial “Mana Transfer to save her life” fills the UBW style, while the later interactions done are a bit closer to HF

I don't entirely agree. It's tacked on sure, but to say it comes out nowhere isn't exactly correct. You're suppose to be aware of bodily fluids being the best way to transfer Mana. Even without the sex being added on, the whole scenario is poorly done as transferic a Magic Crest to those who do not share blood is a very big deal. It's supposed to be done to those who you share blood with and when they are a child.

Fate has two sex scenes, the first one is to give Saber more Mana so she can fight a Servant, the second one is because Shirou wants to do it.
First one, not really, its kind of tacked on, could be replaced for anything else to justify the mana transfer
Second scene, goes both ways, but ultimatly its a nice payoff to shirous and sabers relationship in that route
I think the second sex scenes in Fate route is good, but not very important to the story...
It feels like the feeling erupting when final battle comes and they know they cannot meet each other after then.
Usually I jsut view the sex scene as a kind of bonus in this game :)

I think he was referring to how Heaven’s Feel is the only one that really ties it into the story. Like, in Fate and UBW you could swap those scenes out with some fancy magic crest ceremony and the plot would essentially remain unchanged (like the rerelease did, and those scenes were indeed pretty fuckin badass), but sexuality and the different aspects of it is such a huge omnipresent theme in HF that not having any sexual content really takes out the oomph of it
The first one is pretty necessary the second one is just kind of in the middle, it really doesn’t matter if you skip it.
Honestly, as much as I love the first one, it's not necessary beyond "they fix the thing that'll get them killed, but now it's super awkward". And from a character perspective (because the second is completely plot-unnecessary), Saber insisting that this is just about being able to fight, but being flatly contradicted by her own actions is pretty nice.
