Every few seasons, a fashion show comes along that wows both industry insiders and onlookers with its unapologetic sexiness.
Unsurprisingly, these kinds of shows stand out in the minds of many fashion historians long after the final model deserts the runway.
In the '90s, it was Thierry Mugler and Tom Ford , with the latter designer's Gucci collections helping propel female sexuality to the forefront of fashion.
In the late 2010s, however, a new crop of designers began making waves with their audacious, sensual collections—including Richard Quinn, Ludovic de Sant Sernin and Casey Cadwaller, Thierry Mugler's newest successor at the designer's iconic namesake house.

Of course, Gucci by Tom Ford gets a mention.
The late Azzedine Alaïa was referred to as the 'King of Cling', with his tight-fitting runway garments creating an infatuation with the bodycon dress.
This early Versace show was one of Gianni Versace's most memorable, and involved supermodel Helena Christensen walking the runway in this now-iconic 'bondage' dress.
Thierry Mugler's early shows were just as cinematic as they were stylish, with garments like this one (the iconic motorbike bodysuit) embodying camp energy.
Jean Paul Gaultier's charity benefit in 1993
For a charity benefit in 1993, singer Madonna shocked the world by parading the runway in an exposing overall dress. Many now consider the look to be a legendary fashion moment.
Karl Lagerfeld's earlier Chanel collections were full of colour and vibrancy—most memorably this collection, which saw models don neon bikinis emblazoned with the 'CC' symbol.
Vivienne Westwood autumn/winter '94
Few runway lingerie moments are more iconic than this one, which saw Italian supermodel Carla Bruni untie her mink coat to reveal matching mink-adorned underwear.
Miuccia Prada's lithe, minimal garments were on everyone's fashion wishlist in the '90s, and the potentially see-through fabric was just as much a part of the appeal.
'90s icon Todd Oldham was known for his eye-catching garments, and made waves when he sent Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson down the runway in this completely sheer gold lamé top.
Gucci by Tom Ford autumn/winter '96
Tom Ford's Gucci garments embodied female sexuality, but few more so than the cut-out dresses he showed at autumn/winter '96 (aside from maybe the divine silk shirts he'd shown in prior seasons).
Versace Haute Couture spring/summer '96
By the mid-'90s, Versace had made it known that conservative fashion definitely wasn't their forte.
Gucci by Tom Ford spring/summer '97
For spring/summer '97, Tom Ford sent two Gucci logo-adorned G-strings down the runway, and spawned a million copycat looks in the process.
In 1999, John Galliano's Dior was at its prime, and this collection helped carry the sheer and exposed underwear trends well into the noughts.
When Paco Rabanne kicked off the chainmail dress trend, a million other labels followed suit. Even today, the designer's spring/summer '03 collection is as just as chic, and sexy, as it was in the 2000s.
Alexander McQueen spring/summer '06
Though many of Alexander McQueen's shows involved revealing garments, spring/summer '06 saw the designer momentarily stray from his otherworldly runway aesthetics, opting for all-out sex appeal instead.
For spring/summer '15, Versace presented some of their slinkiest looks in history, seen here on supermodel Jourdan Dunn.
Valentino Haute Couture spring/summer '19
Forty-nine-year-old supermodel Naomi Campbell chose to bare all at Valentino's spring/summer '19 show, resulting in a major fashion moment.
Ludovic de Saint Sernin spring/summer '20
Balmain alumnus Ludovic de Saint Sernin's spring/summer '20 collection proved that yes, a bath towel is chic, and yes, you should purchase one immediately.
British designer Richard Quinn's floral-adorned garments are gorgeous on their own, but were made even slinkier with a latex under-layer at the designer's spring/summer '20 show.
Mugler's new creative director, Casey Cadwallader, chose Bella Hadid to open his debut show for the house in October 2019, and the supermodel's blazer/hoisery ensemble (complete with a sheer behind) consequently broke social media.
