Civic Holiday: This popular August long weekend holiday is known by various names including Terry Fox Day in Manitoba, British Columbia Day, Saskatchewan Day, New Brunswick Day, and Heritage Day in Alberta. Remembrance Day is covered under the Remembrance Day Act. Employers may also offer their workers a paid vacation on Remembrance Day (November 11th), however, this is not a statutory paid holiday under the Labour Standards Code.
