(05 Feb) The 17th patient confirmed with Wuhan pneumonia is a 60-year old male retiree. He lives in Yue Hong House (Block A) Hong Tin Court in Lam Tin and has not traveled recently. On Jan 22, he started feeling unwell. He visited four different private doctors on Jan 23, 25 and 28. Among them, one worked for Quality HealthCare Medical Services at Telford Gardens.

His daughter and mother are currently staying in isolated wards at the United Christian Hospital while they wait for test results. His daughter posted on Facebook that she did not blame medical personnel for participating in the strikeRather, she criticized the Hong Kong government for refusing to completely close the border, allowing the outbreak to spread into the community.

She also told a reporter, "Should I not speak now instead of waiting for the government to speak on my behalf?" She refused the reporter's request for a phone interview but will consider it if her father's condition stabilizes.

Facebook post from the 17th patient's daughter (Part 1):

(04 Feb) It is confirmed that my father has #WuhanPneumonia. Our entire family has not been to Mainland China for at least half a year. It was a case of human-to-human transmission. We are unsure if the infection came from the community or from people we came across over the past three days at the hospital. Does it help now for the government to be buried alongside us?

Facebook post from the 17th patient's daughter (Part 2):

(05 Feb) Finally, the diagnosis was confirmed. My mother and I are at United Christian Hospital. My father was transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital. I will make my previous post public.

My father’s diagnosis is a disaster not only to my family but also to the community.

But what can I do?I am just an ordinary person. Besides frequently washing my hands, looking for face masks and hand sanitizers every morningand pleasantries to "take care of yourself", is it realistic to stay home 24 hours a day? Even if I do not go to work, I still need to buy groceries right?

(And even if I stay home all day, can I really escape from this?)

And then today, Carrie Lam was still saying face masks were unnecessaryif you were not sick. I truly do not understand how she could be so cocksure.

Frankly, even up to this point, I do not blame medical personnel for going on strike. Really! The whole world - including North Korea and other developing countries- has already forbidden Chinese visitors from entering, yet the Hong Kong government still insists that our fragile medical system could save 1.4 billion Chinese barbarians. Yes, if they do not like you, they will tear your face masks and spit on you. Some even shouted that they would not let you live if they died. God, where does your arrogance come from? Why could you not close the border earlier and wait 14 days? If no new cases present themselves, could the ban not be gradually lifted? My family, friends, and colleagues are all fearful that they may become the next patient. Do you find this fun?

I do have some experience working with Mainland Chinese. Some of them can be reasonable but they tend to need a lot of instruction. For example, things have to be explained multiple times.

Carrie Lam, on what basis do you think these infected zombies can negotiate civilly?

I give up, what I say here does not matter. In any case, my father's predicament is proof that the Pneumonia of China has spread into the community.Hongkongers, fend for yourselves and good luck!
