Facebook Ads Adds More Control Over Creative Auto-Enhancements.

Facebook Ads has introduced an update that gives advertisers more control over their campaigns. Before launching campaigns, users can now access a tool called “Review defaults.” This button lets advertisers take a closer look at the automatic enhancements that Advantage+ Creative applies to ads. The update addresses the issue of “hidden” edits and makes the optimization process more transparent and easier to manage.

How Advantage+ Creative Works

Advantage+ Creative is a set of Meta tools for automatically improving ad materials. Machine learning algorithms analyze original images and copy, then create variations for different audience segments. The system aims to improve conversion rates by adapting brightness, cropping, or text elements to the preferences of a specific user. Previously, many of these features were enabled automatically, which made it harder to control the final look of an ad.

What the Tool Allows Advertisers to Do

The “Review defaults” button is located above the creative preview window. When clicked, it opens an interface showing a list of active automatic enhancements. The list includes the following features:

AI summaries: Artificial intelligence creates short lists of benefits or offers based on landing page content or ad copy.

Social proof: The system automatically selects and displays the most relevant user comments under the ad post.

Dynamic data delivery: If a user spends more time looking at an ad, the platform can automatically load additional details from the website, such as prices or product specifications.

Visual and audio edits: These include automatic music overlays, color tone adjustments, or the addition of graphic elements to capture attention.

Practical Value

The introduction of “Review defaults” helps advertisers avoid unwanted changes to their content. They can quickly assess whether AI-driven edits are appropriate and disable the ones that do not match the company’s visual style or strategy. This creates a balance between the efficiency of Meta’s algorithms and the need to preserve brand consistency. The update also reflects a broader trend toward giving users more flexible controls in AI-based advertising tools.
